Nastiest GOP Debate Yet
politico.com ^ | February 13

An all-out brawl broke out on Saturday night's debate stage, as the GOP candidates viciously tried to wound each other ahead of next weekend's South Carolina primary.

Donald Trump skewered Jeb Bush for standing by his brother and the Iraq War. Bush slammed John Kasich for supporting Obamacare's Medicaid expansion. Marco Rubio and Trump called Ted Cruz a serial liar, and Cruz bit back, retorting that Rubio is weak on undocumented immigrants

Trump won by default.

Trump was pathetic.
Every time I start warming up to the guy it seems that he puts on another of his Temper Tantrum Everybody Lies and Especially Ted Cruz performances.

Civility was buried tonight and Trump had the biggest shovel.

Bush 2 decided to take out Hussein because he felt that Hussein’s continued rule over Iraq was affront to Bush1.

"That N---- tried to kill my father."

I think that Donald Trump will declassify the 28 pages as soon as he gets in. He has been talking to LtGen Mike Flynn so I wouldn’t be surprised if Donald doesn’t have a pretty good idea of what is in it. He has said things about Saudi relatives leaving the country after 9/11. Nothing more than has been leaked to Alex Jones, but that also could be plausible cover for more.

Oh well. We are sick and tired of candidates being nice. You can vote for the Pope if you want, but most of us want a strong President who won't take crap. I don't want another wuss for President. We have had 4 in a row. No more. Trump is a fighter and that is why he will win. At another time, Trump would never make it, but these are critical times for America. We are done if we don't fix this mess. The LAST thing we need is another milquetoast like Cruz, Bush, Rubio, Kasich, or even Carson.

Trump 2016.

GWB’s attack on Iraq will go down in history as the biggest foreign policy blunder, since Vietnam.

Right. These things had no influence...

Let's set the context first. We were in a state of war with Iraq, under a cease fire.

I left out the 500,000+ people Saddam had killed because, after all, neither you nor I care about those filthy little brown people. Right? /s

Wouldn't have happened if not for his father's even bigger blunder, the First Gulf War.

The first shots were fired early, when Trump invited scorn from his rivals by thrashing President George W. Bush for the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on his watch.

"The World Trade Center came down. I lost hundreds of friends," the New York businessman said, criticizing Bush for standing by his brother. "The World Trade Center came down during the reign of Bush."

Wow!

Are the Trump supporters here going to endorse that?

I'm no fan of GWB, but that is utter horse$h!+.

I remember all the libs trying to pin that on GWB in his 8th month in office.

Trump was just Trump tonight — the lone guy fighting all Establishment comers, including that obnoxious audience.

At least his father had the sense to pull out quickly after driving Iraqi army out of Kuwait. He did not remain behind to build the country and install democracy.

As soon as Trump is elected President he will start getting the President’s Daily Brief

Actually, he'll start getting them when he's nominated.

And leave Saddam in power free to seek his revenge?

While Trump wasn’t my first choice...he did lose me tonight.

He uses 9/11 on a regular basis. I don’t like that. 9/11 could happen on any president’s watch.

Just to clarify...I’m not for Cruz either. in fact, tonight I’m pretty depressed. I don’t like any of them.

What, Trump is supposed to sit there as a GOPe audience, moderators and other candidates gang up on him? The entire electorate is describing itself as mad as hell, which is why they’re voting Trump. If you’re not so bad, I guess you go listen to Ted Cruz preach a sermon about stuff that doesn’t really matter.

That’s right! I forgot they changed that awhile back. I think he is going to be the most influential Republican nomination of all time. I worked for Admiral Rickover, and Donald Trump reminds me so much of Rickover it isn’t funny.
