politico.com ^ | February 13

An all-out brawl broke out on Saturday night's debate stage, as the GOP candidates viciously tried to wound each other ahead of next weekend's South Carolina primary.

Donald Trump skewered Jeb Bush for standing by his brother and the Iraq War. Bush slammed John Kasich for supporting Obamacare's Medicaid expansion. Marco Rubio and Trump called Ted Cruz a serial liar, and Cruz bit back, retorting that Rubio is weak on undocumented immigrants

OOOOO I am so sorry.

I know how bad it feels to have someone I was supporting lose.

Cruz isn’t going to be winning.

Trump won by default.

So true. They played his game tonight, except for Kasich and Carson. And Kasich tried to have it both ways and it fell flat. Kind of like trying to play room monitor or something. And Carson, well, if we were voting for just a wired brain that we could plug into a CPU socket or something, then maybe. All the others were in for a free for all where Trump invited them into his barbed wire caged mud wrestling arena.

Trump had a big lead in the polls and had a rare opportunity to show that he could rise above the rancor and speak positively and policy specifics. He chose to sling mud with the rest, too bad - he could have been a leader. Don Rickles had more decorum.

The debate was a shameful embarrassment of petulant 2nd graders. I thought at one point one of the candidates was going to say "I'm rubber your glue what ever you say bounces off me and sticks to you". We were treated to "your a liar" "no you are a liar" ad homeinem and avoided policy and principle for cheap shots, one liners and bravado. I am humiliated by the lack of maturity of tonight's debate and can only wonder if CBS was delighted at the display of a circular firing squad of clowns.

Viewers got an excellent picture of the two sides: Washington Cartel Professional Political Class/Donor Class and Lobbyist class and SC good ol boy GOPE in the audience---all of these people living off of YOU and ME, sucking at the teat of government, and the other side, one man standing up for our NATION against the world, a PRODUCER, a man who doesn't TAKE from others but CREATES FOR others, Donald Trump.

And if Cruz is really going to be able to accomplish things in DC, here's his chance: Suspend his campaign and go make sure the Senate does not confirm an Obama SC nominee. Cruz can't do it. Though the TELLS us all he'll do and has done. He's done nothing. But he has an opportunity.

This broken record brought to you by blood-brothers for Ted, the only candidate who is going to win every primary from here on out... /s

Yes, the "he lost me" is so much a three week old meme now. Stale and hollow. :)

Not only was George W a disaster, the old man was a disaster as well. Trump should have pointed out that it was Bush 1’s inept ambassador to Iraq that told Hussein that the US had no interest in inter-Arab conflicts, and took no side in their dispute with Kuwait over their border. Hussein took that as a green light to invade Kuwait. Bush 1 then decided that he wanted get us involved in a war in the Middle East at Israel’s behest, and at the behest of some oil companies.

Bush 2 decided to take out Hussein because he felt that Hussein’s continued rule over Iraq was affront to Bush1.

Thousands of our men died so that Bush 2 and Bush 1 could feel like big men.

How’d that “kinder gentler conservatism” work out? Not very well.

We’ve had 2 too many Bushes, and Jeb needs to be kicked to the curb.
