Yep, South Carolina is a pivotal battle for most of them. If Trump dominates he rolls his way to the nomination. And he's already playing for the general election voters. Cruz and Jeb still have a ton of cash. Cruz will run out quickly if he loses big in South Carolina. Rubio and Bush will fight it out for the GOPe money and it will come down to one of them and Trump.

The RNC isn’t making Trump launch these ridiculous attacks on Cruz (and anyone else who dares to say a word against him).
The man can’t handle criticism. Neither can some of his supporters, who will call me “delusional” or “low-t” for posting this.
Trump says Planned Parenthood does good thing, thinks they should be funded and issues a Michael Moore attack on GWB but he’s a conservative? Will the liberal shills supporting this man please exit and go join Bernie’s campaign.
The whole spectacle is being run by an amalgam of Illiteratti, Glitteratti, and Illuminatti... All to get Hildebeast in or have our Royal Swineness postpone our elections until whenever. “Why have elections when the people have already spoken”..

Think about why this debate is so nasty. Trump is running away with it and the other candidates, especially the establishment candidates, are very, very desperate.
This was the main reason that Trump backed out of the pre-Iowa debate. He knew that the debate was rigged to "take him down."
I give him credit for putting himself out there in an environment where everybody is gunning for him - the audience, the moderators and his fellow candidates.
