Diversity for SCOTUS, sadly.
The Dems only need to flip 4 Republicans for confirmation so that will be a piece of cake.

There is a point where the GOP needs to learn to ignore this. And this is as good an occasion as any.
Oh, here is where we really do need the jawbone of a donkey (i.e. Donald Trump!) to slay the figurative thousand.

Of course they are less than meaningful but they are data and they do provide a starting point, as such they are more valuable than our (yours or mine) naked assertions.

To compare oranges with oranges we would have to look what would also happen to such polls both before and after a devastating debate. Which, fear not, Trump would deliver. He’s had to deliberately cool himself down, if anything, he was beginning to jump all over people who were indifferent if not his friends.

I mean, we are not going to have a Mitt Romneyesque wimp-out problem with Donald.

Yes, and those Senate Republicans are closer to being dems than republicans. The Uniparty will confirm a muzzie with no remorse.

If Trump were willing to do that, and despite my reservations about the man, I don’t think he would.
The potential downside is huge and the payoff is comparatively small. If that became public, it would eviscerate Trump’s campaign. It would be everything his supporters abhor and everything he has campaigned against. He credibility would evaporate overnight, and he couldn’t win a nomination for dog catcher. Even if he wanted to, that is too big a gamble for even Trump.

True, an answer would need to take some different form.
Let’s all pray to God for a disaster to be averted. Some chess piece is going to move. May it be moved by God and not the devil.

The re-election threat looms close by. That's the only thing these quislings care about. No way to tell how that plays over the balance of Obama's tenure.

Because Trump’s first SC nominee will be his sister...blood over common sense. Trump is not to be trusted under any circumstances. His brand of ‘conservative for convenience’ is not what the country needs at this critical time.
