This is good and Trump should wait til next week and then speak strongly that no nominations should be brought forward til after the election and I fully expect he will do that.

As tempting as it is to speculate, now is not the time. This vacancy will work out in time, and frankly what is said on internet discussion groups isn’t goint to make much difference. Let’s just note the passing of a great man who we all admired and keep his family in our thoughts and prayers.
Maybe everyone on here should read Cruz’s statement as well as Trump’s. One was boilerplate, polite, short, small town newspaper obit. Cruz was personal, sincere, from the heart.

Thanks for the post. I just got home and read Trump’s statement.
There will be no mention of any candidate and the statements made. What will be said is it’s time to put on your tin foil hats and think about “The Pelican’s Brief” As has been seen in the past out DC critters leave no stone upturned in order to take this country down the path they wish to pursue This was made clear with the death of Andrew. What if it was followed thru with even more skulduggery. The initial reports coming in this afternoon are conflicting. Private residence? Resort? Thirty plus minutes in driving time from one Texas City to another. Just moments in time and a snapshot of media turned upside down or has the narrative just begun much like the massacre in Benghazi? WTP are very suspicious of all DC Critters and we have every right to be.
I am saddened to learn that a very large piece of America just died. My prayers are for his family, his loved ones, and his Country. He will be sorely missed.

One of the reasons I’ve been pushing Cruz is the SCOTUS nominations. Trump can relieve a lot of anxiety if he comes out positive on this, so that is the silver lining to Scalia passing.
It was just a few days ago on Hannity’s program that Trump said he would appoint justices like Thomas and Scalia.
