Mounting Evidence Putin Will Ignite WWIII
By letting Putin get away with whatever he likes in Syria, Obama has created a deeply dangerous situation

Relations between Russia and Turkey have been dismal since late November, when a Turkish fighter jet shot down a Russian bomber on the border with Syria, killing its pilot. That began a war of words between Moscow and Ankara that ought to concern everyone, since the former has several thousand nuclear weapons and the latter is a member of NATO.
Kremlin propaganda against Ankara has increased of late, setting the stage for further confrontation. As I explained here last week, Russian media outlets initially blamed the Sinai crash of Metrojet 9268 last autumn on the Islamic State, an atrocity which killed 224 innocents, nearly all of them Russians-a quite plausible claim. However, the Kremlin has abruptly shifted course and now blames the mass murder on Turkish ultranationalist terrorists, without any evidence provided to support that explosive assertion.
Where things may be going between Russia and Turkey, ancient enemies who have warred many times over the centuries, was evidenced this week, when the Kremlin announced large-scale surprise military exercises in the regions of the country that are close to Turkey. Troops were moved to full combat readiness, the last stage before a shooting war, with Sergei Shoygu, the Russian defense minister, announcing on TV: "We began our surprise check of the military preparedness in the Southwest strategic direction."

Not saying the idiot in charge won't let his ego take over and side with Turkey.
Yep. Prophecy says that once the Pope goes to Moscow, Russia will invade Europe in a devastating war.
The Great Schism will end however as a result.
The world always needs war somewhere to keep the global economy churning along.
This too but rather, we live on a globe where peace is not attainable without force. Right does not make right but it does enforce the commonly recognized rights of each succeeding generation.
I know for truly peace loving Americans this fact sucks. Of course, there are many instances where wars are not necessary too. Chaulk that up to human beings and our imperfection. Damn.
One day the world will unite. To foolishly try to do this before its time is a bad idea. Like now. Those one world only have the destruction of America in mind.
Turkey is a NATO member. Big deal.
Obama will throw them under the bus, the same way those slimy Turks did to the USA when we were fighting Iraq.
Erdogan’s days are numbered. His own people will take him out once the Ruskies put them in their place.
NATO isn’t required to defend a belligerent member and if they do, they’ll pay a steep price for it.
Mr. Putin instead has taken his measure of Mr. Obama and has doubled down, saving his client regime in Syria. Russia has won in Syria and NATO and the West are stuck with that outcome, as are the unlucky residents of Aleppo. "I hope Obama doesn't decide to get a backbone now," suggested a retired American general who knows the Russians well, "since the Kremlin is in 'drive' in Syria and isn't about to do 'reverse'."
Yep, that’s what I’ve read, too. Thanks!
Only if a complete idiot is president.
Oh, wait...
“Erdoganâs days are numbered. His own people will take him out once the Ruskies put them in their place.”
My BIL was born and raised in Turkey. He’s an engineer and very religious. He hates Erdogan!
The King of the North is on the march.
Putin has already threatened to stage a coup in Turkey and install a puppet government. So, his war in Syria serves a two-fold purpose (at least): prop up his puppet regime in Syria to keep the Iran-Syria-Hezbollah axis alive, and bait Turkey into actions that will justify a Russian takeover.
Once those are accomplished, I believe Israel is the next target.
“3. Putin is not a moron and will back off once the United States has a real president.”
You really think a Republican President would bother bullying Putin when our own military and economy are a mess, and our allies have mostly scrapped key components of their militaries because they think they can rely on us?
Thank God.
Maybe there is hope then.
I hope.
“I thought the deal was that if a NATO country is invaded, the others will defend it.”
It doesn’t have to be an invasion. Article 5 can be invoked over any kind of attack. We invoked in on 9/11 and that was not an invasion, but a terrorist attack, from a non-state actor.
“Prophecy says that once the Pope goes to Moscow, Russia will invade Europe in a devastating war.”
Actually, the words “Pope”, “Moscow”, “Russia”, and “Europe” appear nowhere in the entire Bible. So I think you mean “some interpretations of prophecy say...”, because the prophecy themselves certainly don’t say that.
It has been the dream of every Russian Tsar since Peter the Great to take Constantinople the Bosphorus and the Dardenelles. Putin is no different.
+1
NATO will not go to war over Turkey, as Turkey is a bad actor and everyone knows it. I think this article is full of BS misinformation. I don’t believe Putin wants war. I think he’s worried about the worldwide instability that is the direct result of America’s weakness and he needs to maintain his support at home. I think there are elements in our own government, particularly in the State Dept, that take very personally Putin’s antipathy towards the homosexual movement.
“NATO will not go to war over Turkey, as Turkey is a bad actor and everyone knows it.”
If Turkey is attacked and invokes Article V, they will have to, or NATO will basically dissolve.
“I donât believe Putin wants war. I think heâs worried about the worldwide instability that is the direct result of Americaâs weakness and he needs to maintain his support at home.”
Putin doesn’t give a damn about “worldwide instability”. All of his actions are designed to maintain what is left of the Russian sphere of influence and expand it. He has never lifted a finger to help any “unstable” state unless it’s already one of his client/puppet states. In fact, he has intervened several times in “unstable” states in order to attempt coups to take them over and extend Russia’s sphere of influence. At this point in history, he is the most aggressively belligerent leader on the world stage, if we judge by their actions and not just their words.
I have no worries about Obama getting a backbone now or ever, not for foreign affairs.
Correction!
- Heâs an engineer and NOT very religious.- Sorry about that!
I’ve never seen him pray.
