A Jeb Bush campaign speech breached a new dimension of awkwardness this week.
The former Florida governor was speaking at a Rotary Club in New Hampshire Monday when a Rotary official interrupted the presidential candidate and sent him back to his seat. A C-SPAN video of the speech shows the man interrupting Bush's speech and ushering him off the stage.
"They're kicking me off the stage!" Bush says, waving his arms, apparently flabbergasted by what is happening.

I saw it...posted upthread.
Pit. E. Full. :(
That’s gonna leave a mark!
It sounded like they (Jebber’s staff) had let the Rotarian guy know, ahead of time, just how long Jebbie had to speak, per JEBBIE’s schedule.
So, likely that Rotary guy was doing Jebbie a favor.
If you watch til the end, you see Jebbie trying to eat his fruit cup and his son (?) comes over and tells him it’s time to go.
Freaking clueless he is.
I’ve never seen such an embarrassing situation happen to a politician on camera since scumbag bill was pointing his finger at us during his Monica deposition!!!
Yes.
A man who can be pushed around by a Rotary Club member would fold under Putin’s dog walker.
Please tell me he didn’t really eat a fruit cup after that humiliation.
Maybe you’re right and I’m being too hard on the Rotarian - I think he just reminded me of a type I can’t stand. The bottom line is that no matter where the directive was coming from, it was on Jeb to take charge and either tell them to eff off, or agree that it was a hard stop and he had to go. It was a pathetic moment for him in a series of pathetic moments.
Very awkward and embarassing.
For those who don’t know Jeb, let me share a bit of insight. Jeb is a very good guy, a kind man, a smart man, but he allows those things to shade his ability to make a harsh decision. I see this video and feel that he doesn’t get the respect he deserves, even though I would not vote for him. My vote would certainly not be because of character or kindness, but policy driven.
For those who believe he’s not smart or good, you’re dead wrong.
Agree...Jebbie wimped out...should’ve taken charge of the situation, with Rotary guy. Sad reflection of what a clueless weakling he is :(
Yes, he did...he tried, at least. He seemed sad that he had to put the fruit cup down, to leave :...(
Video stopped as the guy from Rotary said something about a fifth condition, etc. Anyone hear what that was?
Jeb is only in the race because of no child left behind.
I am not a Rotarian, however my dad was and I have given several recent invited presentations at Rotary meetings. At least for their regular meetings, they are business people meeting at a set meal hour with no extra time (all of their needed business is conducted during that limited interval.) They will finish on time so they can get back to work on time. It is quite possible that Jeb took their time limit as a suggestion rather than something that would be actually honored and enforced for the sake of their members. When they say X number of minutes they mean it.
Jeb says ‘they’re kicking me out the door’ and then the people clap.
When a guy who is head of a local Rotarian Club can excort a presidential candidate off the stage with no problem, how is that presidential candidate going to handle a meeting with adversarial world leaders???
