Cliven Bundy, the Nevada rancher who touched off one armed showdown with federal authorities and applauded another started in Oregon by his sons, was arrested late Wednesday at Portland International Airport and faces federal charges related to the 2014 standoff.
Bundy, 74, was booked into the downtown Multnomah County Jail at 10:54 pm.........
(Excerpt) Read more at oregonlive.com ...
KGW in Portland now has the booking photo after a freedom of information request.
A couple of recent sign ups right here on this thread, too.
If you would like more information about what's happening in Oregon, please FReepmail me.
I lost my Oregon list when my computer crashed last year, so please send me your name by FReepmail if you want to be on this list.
Does anyone know what the charges are?
So what do we do about 2 ranchers jailed twice for the same crime?
What do we do about the Clinton foundation negotiating land deals that contain precious minerals to Communist Russia?
The FBI gives more of a shit about this shack in the middle of Oregon wilderness than is did about Baltimore of Fergeson.
Too bad the Occupiers arent Lesbian/Black Panther/Muslems.
It would all be ok then.....
Mr. Finicum did a video explaining their position.
He maintained that the Constitution only allows for the
Federal Government to own the few acres in Washington DC
on which a very few government buildings set and no more.
He also held that the Feds did not “own” his grazing land.
It seems to have been a “magic right” they suddenly
grabbed in order to squeeze more $$$$$$$$ from anyone
available. Sound familiar? (King George reincarnated!)
All of which is true, but that doesn’t make it a well executed mission.
Which of those objectives were met?
It is probably a bloody photo.
How many times can you point that govt doesn’t play by the rules they pass? are NOT constrained by the Constitutional contract? exempt themselves for the their own betterment? have an ‘us vs. them’ mentality? are more than willing to run rough-shod over anyone/thing that would stand it in the way of power/$$?
Yet, We must follow. Every. Letter. of the ‘law’. Push. Push. Push.
IMO, it’s WAY past time to ‘think about it’...
Well we know one thing. If the “protestors” don’t get off the Federal reservation, a democrat justice department will burn the building to the ground. If they had wanted to arrest Clivin Bundy they’ve had plenty of chances in the last three years. He’s not been hiding. This is all BS of the first degree. Ammon Bundy is also being held in solitary confinement in a 6X6 cell like he’s a mass murderer. No bail.
The government suppression and manipulation of the facts of all this is one of the most egregious violations of the entire scenario.
The Nevada stand of as well.
Well lookee here. A government boot-licking troll.
The Feds don't own it.
U.S. Constitution - Article 1 Section 8 Clause 17
To exercise exclusive Legislation in all Cases whatsoever, over such District (not exceeding ten Miles square) as may, by Cession of particular States, and the acceptance of Congress, become the Seat of the Government of the United States, and to exercise like Authority over all Places purchased by the Consent of the Legislature of the State in which the Same shall be, for the Erection of Forts, Magazines, Arsenals, dock-Yards, and other needful Buildings;
This is not land that was confiscated from private owners.
It was stolen from the state.
Peddle it somewhere else because we can read.
They won the standoff at Bundy’s ranch.
They have had a clear loss in this Oregon operation.
There was the same media during the Ranch event as there is now.
This Oregon event was a failure and any honest military commander would admit it. Or, a commander in denial will defend what has transpired, and I suppose, would jump to do it all over again...given that it was such a success. /s
I didnt see the significance of the location they picked other than it was near the Hammond ranch. Way too isolated and gave all the tactical advantage to the Feds.
The Nevada standoff was right under an interstate overpass in full view of public. Thats what helped the win in Nevada.
I never did understand the why or how these guys were gonna get their message out from the Oregon wilderness?
Art 1 Sec 8 Clause 17 appears to bear out that theory.
It certainly says nothing about “taking public lands away from said public for use as habitat sanctuaries”.
Good review. There were mistakes in planning made. Also, there were mistakes in execution.
Personally, I think as soon as the ranchers rejected their help and willingly returned to prison that this group should have seen the handwriting on the wall and pulled out.
He shouldn’t have gone to the Sodom of the Northwest.
It’s like watching your home burn down, and being told to wait for the Professionals to arrive. If you try to fight the fire, we’ll arrest you “for your own safety”.
And then the “Professionals” show up and say “Nothing we can do. Let it burn...”
