Huckabee also called Cruz's tactics "below the belt."
Mike Huckabee is no longer running for president, but he is still criticizing Ted Cruz -- this time attacking Cruz's campaign for spreading a report on the night of the Iowa caucuses suggesting Ben Carson would be dropping out of the presidential race.
"Ted Cruz apologized for his campaign spreading a false story that Ben Carson had dropped out of the race but he deflected blame to CNN," Huckabee said on his pay-per-view podcast this week. "Dr. Carson, being a good Christian, accepted the apology on a personal level, but he didn't buy Cruz's claims of innocent intentions. As usual, Donald Trump was more blunt, he accused Cruz of stealing the caucuses and said there should be new vote." Huckabee continued, "I can attest to the fact that even in our campaign there were many efforts to try and say that people shouldn't vote for me or Rick Santorum or Ben Carson. The Cruz people said it would be a wasted vote and they should vote for Cruz. It wouldn't have made a difference for any of use but it is the kind of low-life, sleazy politics people truly get sick of."
In the final weeks of his campaign, Huckabee took to attacking Cruz, running ads in Iowa accusing the Texas senator of being a "phony" Christian and raising questions about his tithing history.
In another podcast this week, commenting on Saturday's GOP debate, Huckabee again called Cruz's tactics cheap. "Ted Cruz also took flack for his campaign tactics in Iowa and his unpopularity in Washington and most of them quite deservedly, especially for the last-minute and late hit, below the belt hit, on Ben Carson in Iowa," Huckabee said.

Well, after Huckabee’s smashing first place wins in Iowa and New Hampshire, I guess he say whatever he...
wait... oh... Never mind.
Hey.. what’s that big “L” mean on his forehead???
Coming from the a-hole that torpedoed Romney the first time. Schmuckabee.
why did he have to do this. i had some respect for him after the debates.
that’s gone.
he is a weasel looking for scraps from Trumps table if he wins.
WTF, Huck? You expect Cruz to endorse you? Look up the definition of politics and grow a brain.
I was just saying how much Huckabee’s stature had risen in my estimation. I thought he was a useless hack. Guess my first impression was correct. F@ck Huck
There's far more to being a Christian than tithing, governor.
lol...the Huckster has the nerve to accuse Cruz of dirty tactics while at the same time running that ad.
LOL!
What issues really matter to the Candidates...? What did they say about TERRORISM
We are going to look at what Rubio, Cruz and Trump had to say during their announcement speeches to run for president about Terrorism, ISIS, Islam, middle east refugees. Rubio says not ONE word! Cruz has one line, but mentions Cuba FIVE times. Trump is ALL over it. SAME thing with immigration. Tomorrow, we do Trade & the 2nd amendment.

His SRO IN Myrtle Beach fit in a closet. Of course, Trump’s crowds are imaginary.
All I’ve seen in the last couple of days are RE-RUNS of articles published days ago.
What’s up with that ..??
you do know about his 60 percent disapproval rating, and his losing to hillary on average by 3 while Ted beats her by a little more than 1?
realclearpolitics.com average of quinipac NBC and FOX
nailed NH so their polling is good.
How many police officers deaths is Cruz responsible for?
Huckabee was a much better choice than either McCain or Romney. For one thing he’s always been pro 2A.
What is Ted’s disapproval rating?
The Littlejohn Coliseum, is a 10,325-seat multi-purpose arena in Clemson, South Carolina, United States.

Blog pimps can go Huck themselves. So can Huckabee.
“...why did he have to do this...”
Why?
Jealousy. Spite. Pettiness. His moment has passed by, but he still can’t turn away.
It is what it is. You can’t change people. And true stripes come out, eventually.
H e knew from the start he never had a shot at this election, but he still stepped into a crowded field, knowing full well how critical this election is to the Country... same with Santorum ... splitting a field that is already chaotic.
Sometimes, it’s about something bigger than ourselves. This is one of those moments.
Well that’s not saying much. We could have a ran a fire hydrant and done better.
