INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - An Indianapolis manufacturing facility is moving operations to Mexico, impacting 1,400 jobs.
Carrier, currently located on West Morris Street, will be moving operations to Monterrey, Mexico beginning in 2017. The move is expected to be complete in 2019.
A release by the company said there would be no immediate impact on jobs.
The company says the proposal to move is subject to "discussions with local union representatives."
"This decision is difficult and we recognize the impact on employees, their families and the community. We are committed to ensuring that our employees are treated respectfully and to working closely with their representatives throughout this transition," said Chris Nelson, President of HVAC Systems and Services North America.

They get our manufacturing jobs.
We get their illiterate peons.
Dang it! I thought you meant an aircraft carrier. As if Bathhouse would use it.
Trump ought to go up there and make it a campaign issue.
God, I can’t wait to see President Trump slap 100% TARIFFS on goods coming from Mexico by American Companies.
This decision is difficult and we recognize the impact on employees, their families and the community...? Really?
We recognize it but don’t give a damn. Can’t really blame them with high business taxing libtards and their damn environmental restrictions.
But at least they are getting health care. Isn’t that all that matters?? /s
screw 'em.
When I was a young man, they built big buildings, filled them with machines, manufactured things to sell to the world, and called them factories.
When I was middle age, they built big buildings, filled them with things manufactured around the world, sold them to Americans, and called them warehouses.
Now they don’t even build big buildings anymore.
Pass a right to work law, and problem solved.
Carrier off the list.
Obama must be stamping his feet mad. /s
Carrier just lost a potential customer...we’re having our AC replaced this Spring and they were one of the options the HVAC guy recommended.
Not anymore.
I am pretty sure Indiana is a right to work state. Epa regulations have as much effect as unions. Throw in upcoming carbon bs and wow.
