Will the GOP establishment steal the 2016 nomination from Donald Trump even if the magnate arrives in Cleveland with the most pledged delegates but short of the 50 percent he'd need to be nominated?
Is a back-room deal in the works to have a "brokered convention" to deny Trump the GOP nod? I think there is such a plan and it must be exposed.
Donald Trump is our last hope to make Washington work for us - not the lobbyists, special interests and billionaire donors who control the corroded two-party system. As Trump says: "America is going to hell!"
I am a veteran of nine national Republican presidential campaigns, including the floor of the 1976 Republican National Convention for Ronald Reagan. My sources inside the Republican party are warning me:
The insiders have a stunning plan to stop Trump even if he wins the primaries.
The plan involves stalling Trump short of a majority on the first ballot, since many of the delegates pledged to him would no longer be legally bound to support him on subsequent ballots. There are many, many Trojan Horse delegates inserted by the GOP establishment who could bolt from Trump after that first ballot.
Remember, up until March 14 all primaries have proportional delegate allocation. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) 97% , Chris Christie, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) 79% , Jeb Bush and the rest will be winning delegates, too.
There are 278 Super Delegates who are GOP establishment insiders, likely opposed to Trump. They constitute 4 percent of the convention. Thus, Trump must win 54 percent of delegates elected in caucuses and primaries to guarantee he could block a plot to stop him.

I don’t have a scheme. I’m referring to math: it takes 50% +1 delegates to win the nomination.

I’m not a supporter of either, but if I’m willing to vote for whoever the nominee is against the progressive, er, democrat candidate is, I hope supporters of other GOP candidates will correspond.

Actually, the RNC has a meeting a week or two before the convention, and they can change the rule if they choose. And since it is up to the party to decide how they select their nominee, there is not even anything a court could do about it (I mentioned this because I know how Trump likes to threaten to sue). Legally, they could pass a rule before the convention saying that the vote of the delegates will just be considered advisory, and that the RNC would select the nominee, and there is nothing anyone could do about it.

There is so much wrong with that statement. There are actually only about 12 true winner take all states (and SC is not one of them). The rest are either proportional, or what is considered a "hybrid". That is, the winners of each congressional district get three delegates per district, and then there are additional state level delegates that either all go to the state winner, or are awarded proportionally. SC, TX, CA all award their delegates this way.

I sure hope I am, on the people being asleep enough. But I'm pretty sure I am right about the RNC not having fire in the belly. It's content to be the minority party, the role it has held for the better part of two generations.
A brokered convention is the last gasp effort for the GOPe to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. I see them playing every trick in the book to sustain the political money system that fattens their wallets. The only problem is that The Donald will continue to educate the American People about the cesspool America’s center of power has become. The Potomac has been a putrid swamp for too long.

It’s interesting to me that the powers that be continue to overlook that reality. Maybe they believe we will huff and puff and then slink away. How very wrong they are, there is sheer fury out here, I hear it and see it daily.
Also, do the Cruzbots believe for nanosecond that IF the RNC pulled off this stunt, that the red carpet would be rolled out for Cruz?

i hope you’re wrong. i’ve been told by experienced candidates here that it’s possible that trump can prepare multiple slates of electors in some states. i’ve also been told he can also run as a write-in as well. i’m not an expert by any stretch, but i’ve researched one such state myself and it certainly seemed doable.
he certainly has the resources to prepare, and i think he’d better if he can. not only for this year, but in succeeding years as well. his prep now could become the seed of a new conservative party.
