A day after the New Hampshire primary, Republican presidential hopefuls were set Wednesday to fan out across South Carolina and begin jockeying for the first-in-the-South primary that has a history of picking the eventual nominee.
Billionaire businessman and reality TV star Donald Trump has the early edge in polling there and in other key states as the race turns to the South and West over the next six weeks.
South Carolina has the potential to launch Mr. Trump into victories in a series of delegate-rich multistate primaries next month and turn his campaign into an unstoppable juggernaut toward the nomination.

Pitchers and catchers report soon. I like to see the BoSox put together another championship season. :)
Cruzies do hard a time. ;^)
“However, I think the rudeness and intolerance of the Cruz supporters on this site is above anything Iâve ever seen.”
Damn right. According to the Cruzbots, this race was over last week. Now this week, they can’t take the comeuppance that they sowed the seeds for.
Make that “Cruzies do have a hard time. ;^)”
It would be nice to see Papi get one more crack at the World Series.
They’re a bunch of crybabies. Last week they had a bloodlust going on. This week, they cry and run. Front running phonies, who don’t have the IQ to blow their noses.
Funny. I’ve never liked Trump nor anyone who claims to support him. Reality TV watchers and casino fools.
Rubio got cornered in the locker room. The beat him up and took his lunch money.
His canned line was right on the money, but you have to have the presence of mind to improvise, and adapt if your schtick gets called out.
Christie is an experienced prosecutor...and he knew when to spring the trap. And he beat up Rubio, took his lunch money, and gave him a wedgie just for fun.
Trump is tapping into the frustrations of the silent majority like no one I’ve ever seen. He speaks out about things that sane Americans fear. I just don’t think he’s very sincere and he’s no Constitutionalist.
Hope so! A conservative and an entrepreneur in the WH is the perfect ticket
I haven’t been watching that closely. That stuff doesn’t look good. Yeah I can dig that - one more for Big Papi! :-)
I like cartoons too.
The “a” thing is done by autocorrect.
It’s weird. I try to catch them. Don’t know why it adds “a” before a lot of things. For example, I will write “Trump” and after I post I will see autocorrect has changed it to “a Trump”. Bugs me a lot.
Strumpettes applies to all Trump idolizers.
You know who you are, as you’ve shown.
This is breaking news with an altered headline. LoL.
Yep, Trump pretty much owns South Carolina.
I’m supporting Trump and I’ve never watched a reality tv show and I don’t go to casinos.
How clever, adding that "s." Care to apply it to your preferred candidate, lol?
Agreed - 1 more for Papi!
The other stuff? It’s around.
“My guess is a Strumpettes like TV most and watch the most.”
I haven’t watched TV in over a decade. How’s that compare to you?
When I listen to Trump talk, why does it sound like English isn’t his first language? He reminds me of Arnold when he says,”I am telling you this....” and so on. And sometimes it’s like listening to a carousel. He’ll say someone is “fantastic” and then someone else is “fantastic” and someone else is “fantastic” and on and on. It’s just something I noticed.
100% agree. There are way too many petty, juvenile, rude and needlessly bitter comments these days.
I wonder who will get his delegates when he drops out? /s
