The U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday delivered a major blow to President Barack Obama by blocking federal regulations to curb carbon dioxide emissions from power plants, the centerpiece of his administration's strategy to combat climate change.

On a 5-4 vote, the court granted a request made by 27 states and various companies and business groups to block the administration's Clean Power Plan. The move means the regulations will not be in effect while litigation continues over whether their legality.

The vote was 5 to 4 on something that is clearly anti-democratic. One Supreme Court vote away from letting a Dem dictator run wild.

I noted that, too. Frightening is something of an understatement. It'd be bad enough if the SCOTUS were simply an organization which made pronouncements and shot off its mouth (something like CNN or MSNBC)... but the fact that they have actual power over peoples' lives is... sickening, chilling... fill in your favorite negative adjective.

“5-4 which is why no matter who the nominee is we have to vote Republican.”

An establishment RINO is still a liberal democrat no matter
what you call them or wish them to be.

I don’t think it would be a good idea to depend on a Bush
to appoint a conservative. Of course with ol cockeyed jr.
he could possibly bumbly stumble into actually appointing
a conservative but I wouldn’t depend on it. Remember when
his genius brother tried to sneak in Harriet Miers ?

To the (correct) point.

Most seem to forget how Bork was treated...actually, ANY Republican, semi-Constitutionalist.

Let alone expecting a Presidential appointment to be the 2nd Coming of the Founders. Most of ‘em I wouldn’t trust as dog catcher; they ARE lawyers for God sake! Yet, just because XYZ ‘vouched’ for ‘em, well, by goss, they MUST be good for ‘our’ side!

Let it crash and burn. Enforce EVERY Law to the limit. Then we can phoenix and begin again.
