Question 1: How would you vote (or how did you vote) on fast-track, and would you support or oppose advancing a final trade agreement which enters the United States into a new international commission with binding authority on future United States trade policy?
ANSWER: I was steadfastly opposed to giving Obama his Fast-Track powers, and would have absolutely voted against it. This is one of the strongest distinctions between me and the other candidates in this race. The Congress, apparently under the magical spell of donors, gave massive new powers to a President who has repeatedly abused his authority. The other candidates in this race actually fought on Obamaâs side to give him more power to abuse.
As for creating a new international commission with authority over United States trade policy I am, again, steadfastly opposed. No foreign power should be given any control over the United States. Yet the other candidates who supported Fast Track allowed President Obama to do just that. Itâs not too late to save our sovereignty: when I win the nomination, I will put America back in charge.
Question 2: If the vote on the Trans-Pacific Partnership were held today, and you had a vote to cast in Congress, would you vote for it or against it?
ANSWER: I have strongly and consistently opposed the TPP. For decades, I have warned about how our terrible trade deals are killing the middle class. We are getting taken to the cleaners. My message on trade has been consistent from the beginning, and if politicians had listened to me years ago we would have saved millions of jobs, rebuilt our crumbling infrastructure, and saved trillions of dollars.
My candidacy is the only way to stop this terrible deal that will send our manufacturing

What about his actual votes?
TPA and the Corker bill votes show he is weak on both.
I hadn’t read about Trump saying he is doing this for his family before you posted it but I have long suspected it.
He is a protective person. He also lives and works and started his empire in NY - probably the biggest terrorist target and he remebers the smell of death after 9/11.
Another terrorist attack could take out his family and a lot of his life’s work. What real man with the wherewithall would stand by and let this happen?
And, I believe he is proud of being an American and hates seeing what has been done to us. Our politicians have sold us out and continually lied to us while they lined their own pockets.
Trump is the one for me.
Good responses by the Donald.
It takes time to get back to your big donors and ask them how you should think.
Good post and follows my thoughts.
Great point. The others have likely turned the questionnaire in to their largest donor/amnesty PAC to prepare their answers for them ;-)
Cruz has a very long track record. He has stood alone and also kept his promises. You can zero in on an extremely small number of things that some of us find fault with. But you have to keep it in perspective.
If you are waiting for a perfect leader, you will have to wait until Jesus comes back. Until then you may want to support the least bad option.
Why does the left, GOPe, and Planned Parenthood HATE Cruz above ALL other candidates?
Does Trump (or Cruz or Carson or others) have some plusses that Cruz does not? Probably. But I support Cruz because he is across the board conservative. He has made and will make mistakes, but he will make decisions guided by an ideology of conservatism. I like that.
Yep—Cruz was working hard to get TPA passed when it mattered. (Rubio too of course.)
LOL.
Sessions doubtless knows EXACTLY where TRUMP and Cruz stand on these questions.
Sessions will not endorse but is signaling loud and clear.
Can not wait to see Cruz’ response and how he navigates the pathway to legalization recommendation he promptly dumped after the Cantor loss, that saved us from the Gang of 8 and Cruz’ ridiculous amendment for legalization, adding that the American people were for legalization. (Which he has never denied, btw.)
What Cruzebots forget is that a lot of us were originally and early on Cruz supporters. We already KNOW what Cruz has said, and therefore can recognize the bait and switch he has perpetrated when we see it.
I love that picture too. TRUE story.
“Talk is cheep, actions are what show who a person is. Cruz has TPA and corker bill.”
As I replied to your cohort here, no candidate is perfect. If you are waiting for a perfect leader you will have to wait until Jesus comes back.
Cruz has proven he will do what he says. He has consistently stood up for conservative principles, fiscally and socially.
Show me any rating by a conservative organization which gives him a low score.
Trump definitely has some great points. In some areas I think he is willing to take bold, aggressive actions that even Cruz has not committed to do. I think Trump will do what he says, but he does not really have a solid track record to back up his conservative promises. If he wins the nomination and picks a solidly conservative VP and does not shift left on his positions, I will support him. He has made some disturbing comments about getting along with Pelosi and Reid lately. That scares me. Those are NOT people I want my president to get along with. I want him to crush those kinds of nasty liberals. And I think Trump could be the one to do it.
If we donât solve the economic/security issues we wonât have any control over social issues anymore.

That’s what I’ve been trying to tell people for months.
But they just hate hate HATE Donald Trump and can’t bring themselves to believe that he might be right about anything.
A few very BAD choices can taint a candidate for life, or at least the length of an election.
In this case, the initial support of TPA, Corker, and Cruz’s (apparent) unwillingness to be bold on the immigration problem have tainted him in the eyes of many.
Nice comments RitaOK. I agree with you.
Luv that pic!
