Saturday night at the GOP debate in New Hampshire belonged to the executives: the governors and the businessman.
Indeed, if Saturday is any indication of what kind of debater Donald Trump can be, then it's safe to say that it really was a mistake for him to skip the Fox News debate before the Iowa caucus. He may very have won it if he had shown this kind of strength and adeptness just days before Iowans went out to vote.

I watched that thing, and it was terrible.
I’m sure FReepers would want to see it, but the writing was poor and the person they had playing the part was just bland.
I’m not a Cruz fan, but they really missed it on this one.
Thank you for the link.
My lightbulb took forever to go off. Even when others told me there was something they didn’t trust about Cruz. Now, I knew Huck was a big phony, but I didn’t get it about Cruz for a very long time.
Giamotti will play the quirky “strange” characters. Yeah, he would play Cruz out of that group. It just struck me as funny.
Don’t feel bad I was hot for Teddy in the beginning also. When he started voting sideways I had to take a step back and punt.
Trump all the way ... without him we will lose ...
Maybe you will will lose if Trump loses, but everyone else will win.
How so ?
We’ll have an unhinged, narcissitic, power-drunk authoritarian jerk in the White House.
Again.
“So let me see if I hear you clearly; A candidate that has a deeper knowledge of the issues is the favorite of shallow people? That sounds quite odd.”
Only if knowledge is your most important criterion. As I said in my previous post, knowledge can be acquired; character can only be improved over a long period of time.
“It seems to me that one would want a good character candidate with a deeper and more thorough knowledge of the issues. But you don’t want that.”
Anyone would *want* it. The problem is, you can’t have it. Not no how, not no way.
You’re stuck with a choice between a weak man of doubtful character, or Trump.
When the wolf is at the door, you want a strong man. Niceties such as a familiarity with the slang of Beltway insiders lose significance. We know for a fact that none of the other candidates will do a bleeding thing to save us; Trump might. He’s not just our best bet; he’s our *only* bet.
Every other door has a thousand rabid rattlesnakes behind it. We don’t know for sure what is behind the door marked “Trump,” but it might be better than a thousand rabid rattlesnakes.
I thought you said you turned it to CNN after a short time?
Yes, that’s the guy. I plan to seek a way to watch more of his videos. I had to go to sleep before he finished.
I’m sure Bourdain is a lib but he is a very large-living, interesting person. They should use him in Dos Equis beer commercials.
