Kasich jokes: 'I ought to be running in a Democratic primary'

Republican presidential hopeful John Kasich on Saturday joked that he may have more appeal to voters outside of his party, according to CBS News.

While campaigning in New Hampshire, he ran into a Democratic voter who said the Ohio governor is the only Republican he'd consider voting for.

"I ought to be running in a Democrat primary. I got more Democrats for me - you have any Republican friends?" he quipped.

Kasich is considered one of the more moderate GOP candidates and has been attacked by the right for using the Affordable Care Act to expand Medicaid in Ohio. He also received an endorsement from The New York Times's editorial board, which is considered left-leaning.

Kasich has tried to keep it light while campaigning in New Hampshire. The day before, he got into a snowball fight with members of the press.

"Everyone is beginning to talk about Kasich running a positive campaign, can it work? It would be really cool if it worked. And it if it doesn't, I'm blaming all of you," he said in a town hall on Friday.

I never find Kasich appealing in the least, but I probably dislike Jebbie more.

Trump or Cruz versus Kasich in the general would be an election that would be a blessing to the USA

Heck no. We don’t need a reasonable Democrat. This is our election to lose. Everything points to us winning this. Running against Hillary and Bernie is the best for us. No let Kachich do well in NH and then fade away and go back to Ohio and continue as Governor.

Kaisich is hard core conservative he is just leaning a little left to assure his viability. He is an upstanding Christian and of great moral convictions. You will not be disappointed if he is the nominee and gets elected. Even if he misses on the nomination he would make a great vp. Or maybe a cabinet post. He could be a federal judge. Run an agency. Go to DC as a consultant. Oh please god any thing to get him out of Ohio, I’m begging you...
