NASHUA, N.H. — Ted Cruz and his team are smarting over the attention paid to the third-place finisher in Iowa, Marco Rubio, joking that “bronze is the new gold.â€
When Mr. Cruz fields questions from voters about Donald J. Trump, he often manages to attack Mr. Rubio anyway.
And at a raucous town-hall-style event here on Wednesday, Mr. Cruz seemed to startle the crowd when he called Mr. Rubio’s positions “virtually indistinguishable from Hillary Clinton’s.†As audience members murmured, Mr. Cruz laid out what he saw as Mr. Rubio’s betrayals of the conservative cause.

Of course, Cruz fell to third and if Rubio gets second Cruz could be through.
I can certainly understand the desire to rip the veil off the cabana boy. If Rubio’s gonna get the nomination at least folks need to know what they’re buying, and its not what they’re being sold.

Good! Needs to be done. The media has pulled back for a while with establishment candidates now they’re all in for Rubio. Everyone needs to stop Rubio or it will be another nail in America’s coffin.
Fell to third? Was he ever higher or even third in New Hampshire?

Rubio wants to give the Democrats a permanent majority with amnesty.
If you “win” with Rubio, you lose
Yeah, he has been in second by a few points for over a month now. I think as long as he stays in the top four, he is in good shape for South Carolina. But the higher, the better, for certain.
Everyone needs to stop Rubio or it will be another nail in America’s coffin.
Well, if your desire is to improve Hilary Clinton’s electoral college standing, then by all means stop Rubio and push Cruz...
Of course he is.. We all know Trump will Win it.. Cruz doesn’t want to come in 3rd to Rubio.
You cannot believe the media hype that only Rubio can beat Hillary. Or that Rubio is who Dems really fear.
Seriously? The Dems want Rubio because he is open borders. Once that issue’s put to bed, the Dems have the votes they need forever.
Trump made one statement that crushed Hillary and Bill. That’s who they fear.
Good. We need Marco out ASAP. Every scandal, everything we can hit him with, needs to be done NOW. The establishment will use it all after he wins nom. Let’s pre-empt. Hopefully tiny 5 hour energy shot takes a hit tonight.
Good! Trump needs open up on Rube and expose him as the sweetheart of the GOPe and Open Border Thugs like Murdoch of Faux.
Even Jeb and Christie are doing the whackamole on the Rube.

Phyllis Schlafly, architect of the modern conservative movement and tireless opponent of mass immigration, says GOP hopeful Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)79% should be disqualified from the race for dishonestly saying one thing about amnesty in English and another in Spanish.
“If Jeb’s candidacy falters despite the $114 million he raised, the establishment’s next choices, Sen. Marco Rubio and Ohio Gov. John Kasich, have basically similar views,” she wrote in her Monday World Net Daily column:
Kasich said the 12 million illegals should be “legalized once we find out who they are,” and Rubio said Obama’s executive amnesty “can’t be terminated because there are already people benefiting from it.”
Rubio’s statement was made in Spanish on the Spanish-language network Univision, which is reason enough to eliminate him from serious consideration. When somebody is running for president of the United States, why should we have to get somebody to translate his remarks into English?
Why indeed? Bilingualism has corroded political discourse rather than strengthened it. Lying in a different language is a becoming bipartisan pastime. Democratic Rep. Luis Gutirrez mocked Kathryn Steinle’s death during a Spanish Telemundo interview, calling it a “little thing.” Steinle was allegedly murdered by an illegal alien. Gutierrez exploded with rage when an expert immigration witness calmly called him out during a congressional hearing.
Maybe that’s the smart approach; focus on the establishment’s candidate for now and then later on in the primary he can pick apart Trump’s left wing positions and status as a registered Democrat and perhaps even all the Trump hype will fade at any rate.
Rubio needs to go.. We don’t need another establishment republican.
Ted Cruz is our best candidate.
That is why I am so against Trump’s touch back amnesty. We’ll have millions of new Democrat voters.
Cruz and Trump are smart enough to see this and that will play out tonight. Too bad more FReepers aren't as smart as Cruz and Trump.
