Charles Murray was great tonight, talking about his new book. The event was partly ruined, though, by some dopey comedian who came on first and did a spoof on Trump. Hardly anyone laughed. His only good line was: “I’m a libertarian. I’m fiscally conservative and socially irresponsible.”
I had a freeper on each side of me, just by coincidence.
Grabbed food on the run and was really looking forward to getting back to watch the second rally. I was glad he didn’t continue the Cruz business. The press has picked it up now, so he doesn’t have to talk about it. Especially if someone is going to sue, either him or Carson, he has to drop it now.
Once the MSM picks it up; his job is done.
Really...you sate with fellow FREEPERS? How neat. :-)
That is basically what I meant. It’s generational. It’s the same with music. I hate rock music and my son plays in a rock band. I’m entitled to be a curmudgeon. I’ve earned it.
Now sweet pea, you know I didn’t say anything like that. I hope you have read DJT’s book, “Crippled America”? I have. Have you watched every rally, every interview, every debate? There is not much about Trump I don’t know and I have lived long enough at 82 to be able to judge people. You won’t find a more dedicated supporter of DJT. I don’t talk much. I listen. At ease.
I was with a small conservative group and one of the guys is a freeper from NYC. The other came in unexpectedly later and is an old friend.
We were at Junto, which is one of the more intellectual groups in the city. Libertarian and investor types and big fans of Ayn Rand. Murray’s book is about a scheme for fighting the overregulation by government. Sounds good.
I have seen EVERY single rally, every single interview, read every single article, and have been reading about him, in the newspapers for many decades.
No, I haven't read his books; however I am his biggest supported, anywhere. :-)
I'm glad that you had a good time.
Thanks for the ping!

We used to sing that as "Bomb, bomb, bomb...bomb bomb Iran" way back in my Oklahoma days.
Morning all! Catching up found my phone and glasses where they fell as I fell to sleep
If the Kabuki falls in place as I’ve created in my mind. DR Carson will be suing CRuz for damages and over his NB citizenship. (He might even throw in Rubio to boot. ).
His follower already has the challenge to being on the Illinois ballot in process. It started with SoS ,through election board, their judicial review and is now moving to Federal Court. It is time Gentle Ben joins the action as plaintiff. (Funny how the only one reporting on it is my friend, Corsi ).
Once it hits court of appeals (7th circuit) it might be covered)
Nan , wish we were closer I’d loan you the book THE TRUMPS It at over 500 pages is really a reference history book on the family and history around them. It covers three generations from widowed mothers with children to support to the multibillionaire (s). Truly The American Dream on steroids !
I know what you mean by generational. Kids no longer get their mouths washed out with soap. Now they hear most of the “bad” words in the first week on riding the school bus.
OTOH I recall one sweet little boy who lived with and idealized his grandpa who had a VERY salty navy vocabulary. The young man had a very troubled life His kindergarten teacher gently informed him that some words were only acceptable for home not school. The first few weeks of school he would scurry over to her desk, whisper a word in her ear and ask if it was a home word or school word. He kept in touch with her and even named a daughter after her because how lovingly she accepted and guided him.
I’m only 30, but my parents are the same. My mom doesn’t curse, at least I’ve never heard her say it. I don’t remember my dad ever doing so when I was still a child, but he has said s*** and a** after me and my siblings were all adults, but he doesn’t like constant profanity or the use of f*** in conversation. Now I refrain from using profanity near my or anyone else’s children, people I don’t know, or in professional situations; however, I don’t get upset when it is used (unless by a child). I guess my youth and my time in the Marine Corps are reasons why I’m not inclined to care as much about the use of profanity.
Hi, HM. Hope you are feeling OK and get good results soon.
Where do you read the great Jerome Corsi? He helped save our skin in 2004 with his book, so I adore him.
Looking forward to today’s rally and thread.
Advise you read “Crippled America”. It’s short and concise. It is just the expansion of his talking points. Everyone is crying for “details” and the details are in his book. I wish he would read his own book and come up with some new lines.
I wish we lived closer too. Maybe I can find a copy of the book at the library. As for language, I Married a Marine so the most of the words don’t bother me. I even slip with a s—t myself when I get frustrated. I’m like the teacher because that’s the way I feel. There is acceptable language for public use, and there is unacceptable language. It’s not a matter of being hippocritical, it’s about class or manners.
Even my Marine husband has cleaned up his language with age. Maybe it’s a matter of maturity. Thank you for your service.
I really should read it. :-)
Very belated reply to your ping, FRiend... :-)
I definitely remember that wonderful Lincoln Day Dinner in NYC, and I again thank you very much for inviting zelig and me to that event! I remember we managed to shake Sen. McCain's and Mayor Giuliani's hands when they entered the room. Zelig claims he shook Donald Trump's hand, I don't remember that.
I remember that Rep. Rick Lazio was there along with Trump, Giuliani, McCain and Cindy "Only in New York, kids" Adams, among many other dignitaries.
Zelig and I have been racking our brains re: McCain singing "Bomb Bomb Bomb, Bomb Bomb Iran" at the dinner... we can't remember it. Did he sing it there, or somewhere else? I may be mixing it up with Rush Limbaugh's and Paul Shanklin's parodies of McCain over the years... was that where I heard the song? I can't remember.
GRR... memory fails me! I'm sorry...
It was at the dinner. Part of his very witty speech. I always thought he was the funniest one.
Cindy used to come to all our events, along with Lionel Hampton and Tony Randall. I don’t remember Trump being there but I’m sure zelig is correct.
I might have the year wrong. I think it might have been earlier.
It was 2001. I remember now. Because I remember the executive director of NY County saying, “Two people!” And I told her you guys gave me a lot of help with the Bush rallies in Times Square and she agreed immediately.
