I’m only 30, but my parents are the same. My mom doesn’t curse, at least I’ve never heard her say it. I don’t remember my dad ever doing so when I was still a child, but he has said s*** and a** after me and my siblings were all adults, but he doesn’t like constant profanity or the use of f*** in conversation. Now I refrain from using profanity near my or anyone else’s children, people I don’t know, or in professional situations; however, I don’t get upset when it is used (unless by a child). I guess my youth and my time in the Marine Corps are reasons why I’m not inclined to care as much about the use of profanity.

Even my Marine husband has cleaned up his language with age. Maybe it’s a matter of maturity. Thank you for your service.
