Is the power of the White House enough to get Pink Floyd back together for one more concert?
The obvious answer to that question is "almost definitely not," but that isn't going to stop Republican presidential hopeful John Kasich from doing his level best to reunite the dormant group if he ends up winning the 2016 election. Kasich made his unexpected campaign pledge during a Feb. 1 interview with CNN...
"...if I'm president," he decreed, "I am going to...try to reunite Pink Floyd..." First on Kasich's wish list for the reunion set: "Money," from 1973's Dark Side of the Moon.

SHEEP, by Pink Floyd
Harmlessly passing your time in the grassland away,
only dimly aware of a certain unease in the air
You better watch out, there may be dogs about.
I’ve looked over Jordan, and I have seen things are not what they seem.
What do you get for pretending the dangers not real.
Meek and obedient you follow the leader
down well trodden corridors, into the valley of steel.
What a surprise! A look of terminal shock in your eyes.
Now things are really what they seem. No, this is no bad dream.
The Lord is my shepherd. I shall not want He makes me down to lie.
Through pastures green He leadeth me the silent waters by.
With bright knives He releaseth my soul.
He maketh me to hang on hooks in high places.
He converteth me to lamb cutlets
For lo, He hath great power, and great hunger.
When cometh the day we lowly ones,
trough quiet reflection and great dedication,
master the art of karate,
lo, we shall rise up,
and then we’ll make the buggers eyes water.
Bleating and babbling I fell on his neck with a scream.
Wave upon wave of demented avengers
march cheerfully out of obscurity unto the dream.
Have you heard the news? The dogs are dead!
You better stay home and do as you’re told,
get out of the road if you want to grow old.
Now if he could get Peter Gabriel to unite with Genesis, he’d get my vote.
WYWH is amazing. Just got lost in it the other day. I like Animals, but have come to dislike the anti-capitalist, anti-conservative theme throughout.
Concur about DSM.
I think this was actually the last time David Bowie appeared live

By the way, which one is Pink?
Bingo!
The “Wall” sets and costumes were intentionally modeled after Nazi imagery, but, at the time it was written, Waters was making a statement against racism and fascism. He was lampooning them.
Lately, however, he’s been acting more and more like a fascist himself with his crazy antisemitic rants.
But Gilmour just killed it on "Animals".
Hence my extreme dissonance on the matter.
Most “Anti-Fascists” are Fascists themselves.
Roger Waters is notoriously difficult to get along with and Richard Wright has been dead for years.
“Why not reunite the Beatles?”
At this point, I would rather see their kids get together and jam. Julian Lennon, James McCartney, Dhani Harrison and Zak Starkey are all good enough musicians that they could probably make it work.
Yeah that one is overplayed for sure. Some great solos in it though.
My favorite song from that Album is one of the most underplayed- Us and Them.
Ok pops, time to take your medicine. We’ll turn on the radio for you after.
Agreed on Zak, he fills Keith Moon’s shoes very nicely.
Roxy Music
Moody Blues
Yes
Emerson, Lake, and Palmer
Jethro Tull
“Animals” is HIGHLY underrated - perhaps due to the wide use of acoustic guitars vs the other PF albums.
I never tire of WYWH - musically/instrumentally the best they did and lyrically, a bit sad saying goodbye to Syd who, IIRC, spent time in the studio while they were recording the album.
The Dark Side?
Pigs and Dogs were actually performed live even before “Wish You Were Here”, but they had completely different lyrics than what they were on Animals.
