President Obama spoke warmly about Islam during his speech at a mosque today, highlighting the contributions that Muslims had made to the fabric of American society.
“Islam has always been part of America,†he said, detailing the beginnings of the religion among African slaves brought to America. He also pointed out that Thomas Jefferson included the “Mohammedan†as one of the religions that should be protected.

Obama tells another lie. Islam had virtually nothing to do with how the United States was founded. It’s a false religion and most Americans have always known that.
What a bunch of BS. Islam has been part of America in the sense that Columbus looked for a way to get to India because the Muslim Turks took Constantinople in 1453. Also, one might add that the first overseas expedition of the new US was against the Islamic Barbary Coast pirates. He mention Adams and Jefferson owning Korans. Well Obama failed to mention both men did not have kind things to say about Islam. The only good thing is the first foreign country to recognize the US was the Kingdom of Morocco.
I agree they have never done anything good for our country. They have mainly caused problems around the middle east, they are now spreading all over the world.

Well, to some extent he is correct: It has always been part of the problem in America’s side.
Sstarting with the war against Barbary pirates, who Thomas Jefferson dispatched to no-mans’ land. The USA was paying tribute to these Muslims since the country was born.

Well if count the muslim slavers that sold slaves to the Americans as being part of America, than I would agree with that part, but that part only.
