President Cruz: Still America's worst nightmare (Liberals - be very afraid...)
NJ Star Ledger ^ | Star Ledger Editorial Board

Posted on 02/03/2016 5:27:02 AM PST by dead

In some ways, the nation owes Ted Cruz a measure of gratitude for taking the wind out of the sails (however briefly) of Donald Trump, who suddenly doesn't seem as invincible as he did last week. But we're still left with a bipartisan electoral nausea, upon realizing that 51,000 people in Iowa are still unable to recognize that the senator from Texas is more extreme and just as politically unhinged as the GOP frontrunner.

I noticed that the liberal press immediately started attacking Cruz and Rubio after their good showing in Iowa. It just makes me more determined to vote for one of them.

It wouldn't take too many guesses on the color of that star.

There is a vast difference between ‘no idea’ and ‘differing opinions

When somebody takes the time to type "(fact)" in the middle of their post, it's hard to regard it as mere opinion. Do you live in a state without fences? There's no barbed wire anywhere near my home, except for government locations.

Stop letting the press pick your candidate. If you’re conservative, vote conservative.

They spelled out the Cruz plan wonderfully. I guess it was supposed to scare me, but I was smiling the whole time I was reading it.

I still remember 36 years ago when Governor Reagan was, "A lovable dunce who will start WWIII and starve kids and the elderly!" Libs were wrong then..wrong today..

Cruz is clearly more extreme than Donald.

But Cruz is not “unhinged”.

Cruz is “hinged” to actual conservatism, which is functionally more extreme than Donald’s populism.

And Conservatism scares the Left to death.

Whooppeeee!!!!!

Seriously? Do you pay any taxes?

I've lived in New Jersey most of my life (with the exception of a few years spent in America).

The state is Hell with some good beaches, great tomatoes and pizza. It's debatable but it's between #1 and #3 for taxes depending where on the tax scale you are and and it polls as the #1 to #3 state that residents want to move out of.

My wife is retired and I'm semi-retired and telecommute to DC. The ONLY reason we still live here is family.

The Star Ledger editorial board is nuts. The last time I touched the paper was years before Tony Soprano immortalized it.

I remember when Jimmah Carter called Reagan “the racist warmonger” and “the nuclear cowboy”.

And Jimmah has been hating America & Israel ever since.

Oh dear. Someone got up on the touchy side of the bed this morning.

The fence is there. I’ve seen it. ‘Fact’ referred to the fence and it took less than 1 second to type it. ‘Fact’ - there I did it again! 120 wpm baybay! Wooo!

I included the fence as a juxtaposition. A contrast. A symbol of hypocrisy. The Star Ledger, like most northeastern newspapers, blindly demands that parties, candidates and elected officials pursue the sort of policies that inevitably produce the dangerous blight right outside their own windows.

I am SOOOOO glad that I escaped from that putrid cesspool of liberalism, that dark and fascist nanny-state, New Jersey, 15 years ago and settled in Texas, Free America. It and its pols don’t represent anything American anymore, just some mutated and deformed version of European socialism combined with the self-loathing of those who live in luxury without having earned it.

Right now, I like Trump, but I’ve also given Cruz’ campaign money. I will happily vote for either one of them in November...and if New Jersey (or, rather, some uber-Leftist pols and media people) doesn’t like it, it is welcome to secede. Begone, and don’t let the door hit you in the ass.

I'm a Cruz supporter, but Iowa changed nothing. This was the expected outcome last week when Trump was looking, if not invincible, pretty formidable. The only real change was Rubio separating himself from the pack.

Unless something drastically changes in NH, Trump is going to win big there and we're right back to where we were. (Apparently NH has been prone to drastic mood swings just prior to primary day in the past, and The Donald's mouth has always been a powder keg, so it's certainly not a done deal.)

“To them every R is “extreme”... doesnt really matter which one...”

Amazing how that works. As the MSM and the establishment eliminate each conservative, the next one is accused of being too conservative. Then once they have the most liberal candidate, that one is labeled as too conservative and the conservatives stay home because they know the candidate is liberal.

Perfect formula for the rats. And they proved it worked in 2012 so why change?

Oh and the Star Ledger editorial board sucks too. They try to be as leftist nutty as possible, hoping against hope that they’ll be called up to the big leagues of leftism across the river. The NYT is their shining city on the hill.

The demand for big gov is driven by population density and NJ has the highest. Big gov destroys the place, people move out, and the area starts to become more conservative, hence the Republican governor. If not for NJ importing vast numbers of people from India and Central America to re-fill the unionized schools, jails, hospital beds, toll roads, the state would become conservative even faster. Texas has the reverse problem. As more people move in, the state is becoming more leftist.

Dang, you just laid it out exactly how the media operates. That's exactly what happens everytime. And we conservatives never seem to catch on, because we spend the entire primary season every time tearing each other from limb to limb instead of recognising our common enemy, the left and their mouthpiece media.
