I visited UConn with my daughter a few years ago when she was scouting colleges.

My recollection is that UConn had those blue-light topped emergency poles about every 25 feet all through the campus. No matter where you were, when the rape or assault began, you could be sure that you were mere steps away from signalling for help.

My daughter did not feel reassured, and decided to go elsewhere.
