African-American students report feeling less mentally prepared than white students

Affirmative action.

They can learn strategies from each other about how to navigate the university.

"Strategies?" Here's one that works every time: study hard.

Oh, did I just commit a micro-aggression? Or was it macro?

My studying strategy wasn’t to sit in BS circles with either my fraternity brothers or fellow law students. Instead, I closed myself off in a room in a comfortable chair, read my class notes, and recited their substance out loud. Doing that,I graduated with honors from undergrad and law school and went on to pass two different bar exams on the first try. Studying is an essential an individual activity, not collective, where you sit on your ass and pound the concepts into your head, not this insane hand holding BS.
