It should be noted that Wallace did exactly what the Republican establishment wanted during his interview with Cruz...

I would be shocked if FOX News was the only media outlet to receive opposition research on Republicans from Republicans.
Ease up on the prognosticating, we’ve seen many many people miss the mark. Let the results settle in...see how candidates recalibrate their strategies and messages and then see how things go.
Rubio is a lightweight that was groomed for this, but he’s got very little substance. That will come out as time goes on.
One of the biggest impacts of Iowa may be Trump really deciding why he is running. If he’s truly running for the benefit of the voters and Making America Great Again, he’s going make changes that is going to reflect that.
He still has high visibility, a good base and a big microphone. And he doesn’t want the humiliation of having had a huge lead at 1 time and then blowing it.
Part of his base may have been a bit disillusioned with his tactics of the last several weeks. But they will return if he starts talking substantively on what he see’s being wrong in American and making the case for his prescription to fix them.
Rubio is GOPe and will never get my vote.
Can’t stand Chris Wallace.
I was disappointed when Jim DeMint left the Senate early.
He should have stayed and FOUGHT.
I guess he is still doing good work behind the scenes but perhaps would have had more impact had he stayed.
Well, they are going to just have to prove it to me. I will not be convinced to quit the fight just because of some week knees banging together. We have been crying for someone like Cruz for a long, long time and I will not give up. Without regard to whether they label themselves as part of the conservative base or not, most people in this country share the same basic ideas:
1. Keep us safe- strong military, secure borders
2. Let us take care of ourselves, with our own money which we earned from a job and did not have taken away in taxes
3. Stay out of our private lives. We will decide who we want to associate with, worship with, how we want to educate our children
The fact is that we haven’t had the option of voting for anyone who supports these things for such a long time. I’m not giving up without a fight.
Gads Faux News didn't even go that far.
Congratulations to Ted on touching the third rail of Iowa politics and still winning. A principled man.
I would LOVE Jim DeMint to be still in the Senate. DeMint, Cruz, Lee, and Sessions in the senate together...oh boy!
It’s easy to call this scripted and bemoan the media taking sides, but perhaps it’s best to take a step back and ask if Rubio’s rhetoric is really resonating with people and whether Cruz (regardless of his sincerity and bonafides) could learn a thing or two.
I would caution Cruz to soften his tone and his pedantry. I talk to a lot of potential cross-over voters here in SC. Their visceral distaste for Cruz is palpable. And yet, they largely approve of his philosophy. The most common refrain I hear is “he can’t get along.” Now, whether that is a trumped up charge or not, Cruz has to work to eviscerate this notion. He is not Trump (whose bombast has become his calling card); he is Ted Cruz. I know Ted to be a nice guy. But too many voters don’t see it.
Campaigns based on a story simply work. Reagan’s story was about America; Clinton’s was about rising out of poverty; Obama was about a disfranchised benighted Kenyan in a world of unchecked white privlelege:)...
Rubio’s story is a poignant tale of hopeful immigrants fleeing a totalitarian society with a dream in hand ; Hillary’s story is about never getting a fair shake.
Rubio’s story is compelling and (his lilting oratorical flourishes aside) is likable ; Hillary’s simply isn’t.
That really is a fascinating juxtaposition for an election, and a powerful one indeed. And regardless of whether you find Rubio saccharin and want to pound your fists over the Gang of Eight, it makes for a great story and I believe a winning one for the Republican ticket.
Cruz could play up a similar story, but so far he hasn’t . (And Rubio’s wife is hotter) so....
So yeah....It’s basically Kennedy v. Nixon.
I fear the obvious democrat lawsuit for Cruz when and if he is declared the standard bearer. And the supremes or whomever will declare him ineligible
“Ted Cruz will not win a general. No way. No how.”
Said the noob.
Cruz and Rubio will kill each other as the pro amnesty Rubio and the “I’ll take money from anybody” Cruz fight for second place. The GOPe will go full out to back Rubio and that support will blunt Cruz. Trump’s 20 points in New Hampshire is very large.
“Trump is not their enemy.
Heâs a tool.”
He’s not just a tool he’s Hillary’s tool, and he’s not the sharpest tool in the shed.
When Hillary’s legal problems come pouring out it’s going to be a flood and nobody will be able to claim they had no clue what she was doing.
“You’re not supposed to win the Iowa Caucus if you take a stand against Big Corn.
You’re not supposed to win anywhere if you take a stand for actually shrinking government.”

This.
What is your DU handle? I would like to read some of your post over at DU.
Disgusting, Dirty tricks
I foresee a similar challenge to Rubio, although not based on foreign birth. Were either of Rubio’s parents citizens when he was born?
“Wallace was a total jerk at the debate. “
Wallace was also a total jerk again on Sunday during his Cruz interview, constantly interrupting, condescension, antagonism, replaying anti-Cruz sound bites just to further the cartel meme about Ted being a nasty guy! Wallace interviewed Cruz in the same attacking fashion as his buddy Brett Baier when he went after Cruz over the amnesty amendment a month or so ago.
After the Cruz interview, Wallace was then totally respectful to Trump...acted as a media lap dog! The contrast was striking!
FNC is not “Fair & Balanced”!
Rubio is GOPe and will never get my vote.
&&&
Same here.
I held my nose for Romney and then vowed never to vote for the GOPe candidate again.
Rubio likable? Don’t make me laugh. Compared to Hitlery, yes. But that’s more like less detestable.
“. Cruz and Trump must team up on RUbio and finish him.”
I think Trump may have burned that bridge with Cruz.
