Cruz Campaign Celebrates Victory: We've Got Momentum And A Lot Of Cash
Breitbart ^ | 2/1/2016 | Michelle Fields

Posted on 02/02/2016 5:55:27 AM PST by 20yearsofinternet

"We leave here with 19 million dollars," Cruz Communications Director, Rick Tyler, told reporters Monday evening. "That is more money that Bush, Rubio, Kasich and Christie combined."

"People cannot leave Iowa with no money in the bank. Lots of candidates have done it, tried it, even when they've won and they have not gone on to win the nomination."

Tyler continued to stress the importance of money going forward in the election.

You misunderstand the term Australian ballot. It also called secret ballot, is system of voting in which voters mark their choices in privacy on uniform ballots printed and distributed by the government or designate their choices by some other secret means.

To be fair, there’s a big difference between talking smack about your opponent, and outright lying to potential voters that your opponent is dropping out.

So far I’ve seen a mounting list of slimeball tactics from the Cruz camp. He seems to really enjoy misleading voters. Very “Christian” of him. :/

Hey everything I’ve read from Trump supporters is “we are not electing a pastor in chief”...we aren’t electing a “spiritual leader” for president!!
They haven’t cared that Trump wasn’t very religious or really a conservative.
They will say “We need someone who will fight to win...whatever it takes”

I don’t care about you asking about how “Christian” it was of Cruz for anything he’s done...because FR has been deluged by people taking swipes at evangelicals and people with religious values in Iowa for a few months now.

So welcome to politics...
Trump lost...he’s not invincible.

He got outworked...and with all his YUGE crowds in Iowa...almost finished 3rd!!!

Did you donate? :)

That is odd! Just this morning I had an email from Cruz for President, thanking everyone for the victory in Iowa, and saying he had blown his wad on Iowa and cannot win NH without a big infusion of cash. It had his road flare logo on it and said it came from Cruz for President.

Now HERE is the odd part. At the very bottom, the fine print says, This email was sent to Tommy Tucker, yata-yata. And below that it says, This email was sent by Romney for President, Beverly, MA....!

WHO is in bed with WHOM?! Inquiring minds want to know; as the saying goes.

Or are not we supposed to READ the fine print?

So Cruz is flush with money? How come I got an e-mail this morning asking for "emergency" donations from Cruz?

It's a long campaign, and they will continue to need an influx of cash to compete. Most candidates cannot make multi-million dollar "loans" to their own campaign.

That raises another interesting question. If Donald is truly "self-funding", then why is the money he is giving to his campaign a "loan"? Just who does he think will repay that loan to him? It sure sounds like he plans on getting donations at some point in the future to repay those "loans"... So in reality, he is not "self-funding", he is just fronting the money he expects to rake in later.

Amen!

Romney is backing Cruz?

You should upload a photo of that letter for all to see.

“Iowa voters showed up to their caucuses Monday night in record numbers, party officials said.

The Iowa Republican Party says they have officially broken previous turnout numbers, setting a new record tonight.

ABC News estimates that turnout for the Republican caucuses will be more than 180,000, compared to the previous record of 121,354, set in 2012.”......

Interesting. It appears I was mis-educated on the term 30+ years ago when I first voted in the Hugo Awards, their, then new to me, system worked roughly as I described and was routinely referred to as "Australian style voting" and similar voting has been used in the several Hugo votes I've participated in since. I pegged the oddity as par for SF fandom. Now I look up the history of the term and find your use is the norm and much older. Whereas what the Hugo's do is now referred to as "Instant Runoff Voting.

Agreed. Iowa is certainly as you described.
Go into rooms, listen to a campaign ffer offering promise and then write your guy on a piece of paper and leave it in a bin.
If it is close the Dems did a coin toss of all things, what a joke.
Then was there not something lke 30% of voters not knowing who to vote for until the night of the election.
Come on what kind of idiot would not know who to vote for before the election with all these ASD’s , campaigns around the state for well over a month>?

I don’t know what the people of Iowa are drinking, but the way they do their caucus is a joke. It’s like it’s 1816 not 2016 there.

There are establishment trolls on here fanning the flames between Cruz and Trump voters so they can argue it out and let the establishment guy move in.

No Republican presidential candidate has won in our lifetimes without appearing convincingly and sincerely religious.

Yeah, seriously. If someone seriously thought Carson was going to make it through the primary, they needed a dose of reality dumped on their head.

Another name for secret ballot

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secret_ballot#United_States

In the United States the practice became known as the “Australian ballot”, defined as having four parts:

an official ballot being printed at public expense,
on which the names of the nominated candidates of all parties and all proposals appear,
being distributed only at the polling place and
being marked in secret.

“Any Republican that does not vote for Trump is throwing their vote away

Any Republican that votes for Trump needs to change their affiliation to democrat to match their candidate’s liberal policies!!

Besides, Trump is the ONLY candidate that loses to Hillary according to every poll and we already know that Trump is dramatically under performing his polls numbers.
