The Carson camp claimed Cruz's team spread false rumors at caucus sites that Carson had dropped out.

If you read the rest of that feed, it says the Carson campaign will stay in the race no matter what the results but that he was just going home for R&R.
Actually Cruz got 8 delegates and Trump and Rubio got 7 delegates each.

It’s not a stunt. Carson was going home and leaving the campaign trail during a critical 0eriod in the race. That is almost always a sign of a candidate about to suspend their campaign. CNN reported it and Cruz’supporters supporters made sure that Caucus goers knew about the CNN report. It would have been malpractice if the Cruz supporters didn’t make sure that everyone knew about the breaking news story.
