Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin joined the Today show to talk about her endorsement of Donald Trump as Iowans go to caucus tonight for the Republican presidential primary.
is was probably a tough call for you, between Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)97% and Donald Trump, began Savannah Guthrie during the interview.
t wasnât tough,â Palin interrupted.
Really, Guthrie replied.
No, it wasnât tough, she repeated.
Palin explained that she was happy to endorse Ted Cruz in his Senate race, because he was a fighter for the American people but that she wanted him to stay in Washington D.C.
want to keep him in the Senate, and I want Donald Trump to be our president, she said.
Guthrie asked Palin if Trump was necessarily âthe godly candidateâ for evangelical voters.
I hope voters arenât trying to find the most Christian-y godliest candidate out there because who are we to judge one anotherâs level of faith â our Christian quotient if you will, she said.
Host Matt Lauer suggested that perhaps Donald Trump wasnât enough of a true conservative, citing his Democratic record.
Palin referred to Ronald Reagan, pointing out that she was âgladâ that Donald Trump was a candidate that had âseen the light.â
Later in the show, Palin was asked by co-host Willie Geist about what she brought to Donald Trumpâs campaign by endorsing him.
Iâm very, very conservative, very much a right-winger, proudly clinging to my God, my guns and my Constitution, she said. âI think I speak for a lot of Americans who have those same values.â

You are of course correct in using the term ‘executor’ as it relates to one “carrying out the legalities of”.
Now, were the comparison between ‘legislationer’ and ‘executioner’, a correction might be in order.
BTW, having the same reaction as Resettozero, I checked the definitions out of curiosity, and was surprised to notice no references to any form of punishment. To the contrary, here are a few synonyms: achiever, activist, organizer, worker, accomplisher.
I think that you are on to something. To me it also indicates that the nasty tactics being employed are ineffective here on Free Republic. They might even be having the opposite effect. A lot of people here do not want to be associated with this type of skullduggery. Which is why the Cruz shaming mailers were probably counterproductive. The stuff that works on young liberals isn't necessarily effective on older conservatives.
Cruz supposedly has the most well developed and organized group of people on the ground in Iowa. Trump is mostly winging it. If Cruz does not do well it will be devastating to his campaign. I am anxiously awaiting to see how it goes this evening.
You must have learned that one from the Clinton or Obama campaign. Always accuse your opponents of doing the nasty stuff that you are doing... Classy! oh sorry Classic!
I think he also instituted No Fault Divorce, which ultimately made it much easier to abandon a wife and kids.
We are not to judge Sarah? Uh yeah we are. That is what we do in elections. Really losing respect for her.
I just think Trump is a big phoney.
Consider my word power increased, thanks to both of you.

Palin calls Cruz vote-shaming mailer “very offensive,” reflective of pols knowing details of your life so they can make decisions for you
You cracked the code.
Talking to Trump supporters is like hitting your head with a hammer......it feels so good when you stop.
Why waste time engaging with people who aren’t open to,issues or reason?
She said Donald I will vote for you in the Primary and the General and I will tell other people to do the same and he said thanks.
Face it, she is a media whore.
It may be a similar number, but I guarandamtee that it is NOT the exact number. Do you have a spreadsheet linking a list of FReeper names who participated previously in the caucus and changed their vote in more recent polls?
I've never participated in the FReeper caucus threads. I have tried to read that thread on occasion, but there really is no substance to the poll. It makes me sad to see some FReepers I have liked in the past who are so very willing to sacrifice much of their conservative ideals to support a snake-oil salesman. At the same time, I get a grin when I see Trump-supporting FReeper names of some of the loons I have sparred with over the years.
Which is more probable?
1) Did Cruz supporters who had previously backed their guy because he stands on conservative principle, now instead choose to abandon all conservative reason and thought to support Trump?
2) OR did a bunch of Trump Trolls join FR and participate in the FR caucus in roughly the same amount of FR Cruz backers who quit participating in the caucus because they are tired of trying to reason with the Trumpsters?
You could have saved a lot of words and just called her a "Money grubbing whore. You know something like Jesus would have done.
And if she had endorse Cruz because he offered her Interior, she would no longer be a money grubbing whore in your eyes. Cool.
Sam Gamgee, are you really Patty Duke’s son?
Tell me with an honest straight face that you truly believe that.
