INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Jan. 29, 2016) - Gun purchases increased dramatically on and after Black Friday, and now sales of gun silencers are surging. The technical term for a silencer is a suppressor.

Gun shops owners around Indianapolis say they're seeing an uptick in suppressor sales.

"Last month we probably sold two or three suppressors, this month we've probably had six," said Brian Ludlow, owner of Indy Trading Post.

As nice as a suppressor would be, I am not to crawl to the ATF with money in hand to get the appropriate license to own the said suppressor.

By the way folks.  Anyone know what a FReep-a-Thon is?

The same values remain sacred for many of us today.

Life is too short not to get the things you really want.

$200 in 1934 is a far cry rom $200 in 2016.

And I didn’t crawl; merely sent a check.

Remember the connector from the 1980s that threaded a pistol barrel to a soda pop bottle? It really worked for several rounds!
My FIREPOWER magazine referred to it as the PEPSI CHALLENGE later changed to the POPSI Challenge.

Is there a good way to remove the melted plastic from the connector?

I do not remember said device.

It is not a license. It is an excise tax. You pay an 11% excise tax on every gun and round of ammunition that you purchase, whether or not you are aware of it or not.

This is the Pittman_Robertson tax on firearms, ammo, fishing equipment, etc., that is divided among the states to assist with conservation and wildlife management.

I don't blame you.

I can't remember the "hero" but one guy said that he kept his gun LOUD to discourage all the do-gooders and bystanders. Lol. Or something like that. I liked that answer.

One should be allowed to perform experimental builds at home without all of the bureauracy and expense.

I LIKE your attitude. It's a good one.
I have a wonderful pellet pistol (for the crows) and it's a replica of a Magnum .357.

One of my neighbors called the cops on me when she saw me shooting at the crows. Four cop cars came. I showed them my pellet gun...and they did nothing. Well, they made a couple of jokes but they are legal, so they couldn't take it away or ticket me. Life is good.

If it weren’t for all the regulations, a suppressor would cost $50.

Not sure about where you live, but in my state, I walk up to the counter, pays my money and takes my choice (of what's available) when it comes to buying ammo. No paperwork. That 11% is get off my frigging back money.

That isn't the case with a can. You get to register your can (and be a gun owner in the file).
