Today I was shown a piece of literature from the Cruz for President campaign that misrepresents the role of my office, and worse, misrepresents Iowa election law. Accusing citizens of Iowa of a "voting violation" based on Iowa Caucus participation, or lack thereof, is false representation of an official act. There is no such thing as an election violation related to frequency of voting. Any insinuation or statement to the contrary is wrong and I believe it is not in keeping in the spirit of the Iowa Caucuses.
Additionally, the Iowa Secretary of Stateâs Office never "grades" voters. Nor does the Secretary of State maintain records related to Iowa Caucus participation. Caucuses are organized and directed by the state political parties, not the Secretary of State, nor local elections officials. Also, the Iowa Secretary of State does not "distribute" voter records. They are available for purchase for political purposes only, under Iowa Code." - Paul D. Pate, Iowa Secretary of State

OK, but I find 57 failings in Trump to every 1 that I find in Cruz.
That’s a big meow all right.
The gracious way out of this for Cruz would be to apologize, and to state that he will be refocusing his campaign on what is right and appropriate, and eschewing gimmicks, that he believes he can win on merit.
The man who apologizes is the bigger man.
“selling” is one form of distributing, but there are many other different ways to distribute something besides selling it.

Yes....it depends upon what the meaning of “is” is.
It's on Drudge now.
Thanks for that post, but a little clarification is in order. Whether or not you vote is public info. (at least in some localities). Who you vote for is not.
Not to mention that is deceitful and not in line with his evangelical persona.
“When is trump going to show shame over real evil heâs done?”
Ah. Yet another classic attempt at deflection, like when the wife wrecks the car and the husband starts to say something about it, and the wife launches into an attack on the husband for accidentally leaving the garage lights on at night.
Project by level of apparent spiritual resources and then tell me, why isn’t Cruz that way?
It matters to God.
Joe Scarborough â@JoeNBC 48s48 seconds ago An ugly way to end a campaign. Hope & Shame? http://www.redstate.com/2016/01/30/cruz-campaign-mailers-shame-voters/ â¦
Brace yourself. That's John King, Drudge, Morning Joe... all within about an hour. You don't think this is going to be a big deal on evening broadcasts?
There is one in the Daily Beast now too. The statement just came out a few hours ago.
Whatâs next? Free booze and smokes?
Weed and Hendricks..
Isn't that coercion?
That's a fact.
“And now on Drudge. Linking to “The Hill” article. “
yeah, but we saw it first at FR!!! :-)
kinda fun to watch something like this spread into the MSM. once the SecState Iowa released his statement to an MSM outlet, it was inevitable for this thing to blow up in the MSM like a slow motion train wreck.
The Cruz campaign jumped the shark when Glenn Beck “swore him in.” From hear on out it’s just acrobatics.
The Donald has Cruz on the ropes, and Cruz pretty much shot himself in the foot.
Drudge links to The Hill story.
The story is now on DRUDGE. It’s going to be everywhere soon. The Secretary of State statement is lighting a fire to the story. Cruz is finished.
Admit it, if it looks too good to be true for Cruz haters, it probably is too good to be true. Yes, the campaign postage meter stamped them. But this was either unknown by Cruz or sabotage.
