The personalized letters target individual Iowa voters and identifies them as having failed to vote in prior elections. They are admonished and then encouraged to vote this year. In addition the letters identify the neighbors of the voter, and provides their voting history.
The text reads:
"You are receiving this election notice because of low expected voter turnout in your area. Your individual voting history as well as your neighbors' are public record. Their scores are published below, and many of them will see your score as well. CAUCUS ON MONDAY TO IMPROVE YOUR SCORE and please encourage your neighbors to caucus as well. A follow-up notice may be issued following Monday's caucuses".
In an effort to shame the recipient, the notice also informs the targeted voter their neighbors have also been notified of the recipients poor voting record.

I have two letters of appreciation for stuff I did long, long ago from President Ronald Reagan that are among my most treasured possessions. No one is a bigger fan of President Reagan than I am. Cruz has many good points and I admire him on many levels, but he doesn't hold a candle to President Reagan. I might give you Gingrich. ; )
Believe what you will, you missed the point.
They did this in Alaska, and many other places, it all depends upon the reaction in that particular part of the country and their sensiblities.

IT could be worse...How effective would these be?
1. A letter shaming them for the % of their salary given to charity and comparing it with their neighbors.
2. A letter shaming them for the number of times they’ve been to church in the last 12 months and compare with others.
3. A letter shaming them for the grades their kids are getting then compare it with other neighbors.
4. A letter shaming them for the number of times the wife has called 911 on the husband and compare it with the neighborhood.
5. A letter shaming them for the number of parking and speeding tickets they gotten in the past ten years and compare to neighbors.
6. A letter shaming them for the amount of empty wine bottles are in their garbage can on a Monday morning compared to the neighbors.
7. A letter shaming them for the amount of time someone on the house computer is peeking online at adult porn sites...listing the amount of time...and also the amount the neighbors are on there.
I hope Trump is as sharp as he appears to be. We’ll know soon. As for Cruz...D@MN!!!
