Megyn Kelly Just Did Trump’s Dirty Work for Him
Politico ^

Posted on 01/29/2016 7:58:02 AM PST by springwater13

To recap: Megyn Kelly, derided by Trump as a vapid Trump-basher, along with Jeb Bush and Rand Paul, derided by Trump as pathetic losers, led the attacks on Trump's leading competitors. And in the process, they helped remind Republican primary voters worried about immigration that Bush, Paul, Rubio and Cruz have all supported versions of "amnesty." Of course, Trump was conveniently absent, so he didn't have to field any tough questions about his own inconsistencies on immigration or other issues, from Kelly or anyone else.

I’ve been telling my Cruz friends, without Trump deflecting, Cruz would be finished off quickly.

Last night was a small example. Circular firing squad but most of the attention was against Cruz and he got hurt with those videos.

His mocking comments aren’t going to help him when he loses. His VP chances are dwindling fast. And I like Cruz and was hoping for a Trump/Cruz ticket.

Cruz is getting outmaneuvered and thinks he is in a debating match. Trump is two steps ahead of everybody and will now, possibly win Iowa - and if he does - run the table.

Trump’s Dirty Work for Him , McGruff wrote:
“Cruz once filed an amendment to Rubio’s bill that would have created a path to “legalization,” but he has argued that it was really a poison pill designed to kill reform. Last night, though, Kelly effectively quashed that argument, playing several clips of Cruz insisting that he did want reform to pass. “Was that all an act?” Kelly asked him. “It was pretty convincing!”

After Cruz flailed around for a few minutes, arguing that it was unfair for Kelly to focus on 38 words in a 1000-page bill, Kelly turned to Rand Paul, yet another frequent target of Trump’s barbs. “Senator Paul, you know how Washington works,” she said. “Do you buy that?””

Megyn Kelly formally admitted Cruz assertion his amendment was correct and a POISON PILL AFTER debate

Honestly, I have sympathy for Ted Cruz this morning. He didn't seem to realize how abruptly all the dynamics had changed yesterday.

This headline is a succinct statement on what happened.

Both Cruz and Rubio were damaged, but more so Cruz.

Why Republicans continue to put up with this is baffling to me. Whether from CNN's Crowley or Fox's Kelly...or any number of "moderators" past and future, the media is intent on electing Democrats and killing Republicans.

All the Cruz supporters know this morning that Trump did the right thing by skipping this debate. And, they wish their candidate had done the same.

Cruz will finish 3rd in Iowa. He had a good shot at 1st.

Trump better check his spare comb-over. :)

I'm a Trumpkin - don't shoot! I just wanted to make a Megyn Kelly funny. :)

Based on Cruz’s performance last night, MK accomplished her mission.

Doesn't matter to Brit Hume, he only sees the top of her head anyway.

LOL!

Hear she's getting a head lift to flatten out the top of her head...

A very insightful comment.

As they say... "Don't bring a knife to a gunfight."

If you say so. Megyn did admit to Teddy after debate interview that they had dug hard and deep and it was a poison pill. She asked the hard question anyway. That is what a journalist does. They don't do mud wrestling like The One.

Your boy Cruz fell right into the trap.

He wasn't smart enough, or courageous enough to tell Fox"News" to stuff it and go hang out with Trump and the veterans.

“If you believe that the GOP establishment hates Cruz far worse than Trump, what she did may not have been a screw-up.”

The GOPe hates Cruz/Trump equally. That simple.

Your dreams of a Trump/Cruz ticket are over.

After pounding him on the NBC issue, Trump can hardly pick him to be a heartbeat away from the Presidency.

If the VP was on that debate stage last night, it was Rubio.

But something tells me the VP wasn't on the stage.

Honestly, I have sympathy for Ted Cruz this morning. He didn't seem to realize how abruptly all the dynamics had changed yesterday.

Exactly why I've said... "he's NOT presidential LEADERSHIP material."

He DOESN'T assess the true situation. He's a debater who relies ONLY on his debating skill.

Trump saw what was coming.. Cruz was busy running his month and NOT assessing the situation.

Hopefully, a lot of Cruz supporters got the message. Fox is for neither Trump or Cruz. They are for open borders first, second, and third. They will help destroy any candidate who get in the way. Without Trump to take the bullets, guess who was standing alone at front? You will never see a conservative youtube questioner asking Rubio why he is on the Gang of 8 or ask Jeb why it’s an act of love?
