Sunday is the deadline to sign up for health insurance, or else pay a fine. That fine has gone up, causing even more financial stress on the uninsured and those who choose to opt out of health insurance.
"I just cannot afford it in any way, shape, or form right now," 27-year-old Seth Valkonen said when talking about health insurance.
Valkonen chooses to be uninsured by paying a one time fine for not having coverage instead of a monthly premium.
"The penalty is cheaper than the overall total for the entire year," he said,
Already on a tight budget, this year's fine will hit Valkonen and many young people like him, even harder.
In order to get more people to enroll, the fine for not having health insurance nearly doubled from last year up to $695 per person.
"I think it's obscene," he said.

Reading that line again and again is chilling.
Obamacare is working exactly as intended.
Destroy the existing U.S. health insurance system and replace it with the worst system that you can come up with. Soon the sheeple will beg for socialized medicine.

Anyone wanna bet he voted for Obama? Twice?
The beatings will continue until morale improves.
How long till the gubmint offers long term, low interest loans to those who can’t afford ACA?
Where my free helfcare be at?
You are 100% correct. They already have plans drawn up, they are just waiting for the right moment of crisis to make their move. Anyone who tells you otherwise is either a fool or a liar.
Hope and chaaaaaaaaaaange. How you likey dat, white boy?
For individuals, the Obamacare penalty this year is $695, or 2.5 percent of income, whichever is greater.
For families, the penalty is $2,085 per family, or 2.5% of income, whichever is greater.

Even at 2 grand, it is still cheaper to not participate in 0 care and just pay out of pocket.
With the sky high deductibles, few working folks have the cash to get any medical care at all unless they want an abortion (those are free).
Plus, not many real health care professionals take zero-care.
I received my family health “certificate” saying that I had health insurance for 12 months and I guess I need to add the info on the tax forms. What makes these folks think that signing up now would give them a 12 month credit? I think they will have to pay something for not having insurance for 11 months. I think they will probably proportion your health care monthly. Of course the whole thing is dumb. I never do my taxes until April and pay them on April 15. I don’t want DC to use my money any longer then I have to.
But most of the sheeple will think they are only paying a $695 penalty until the rest gets deducted from their tax refund next year, conveniently after the election.
There was an article about this Obama plan a few days ago.
I think I read it here...
At that point it will be “Republican’s fault” no doubt.
You are right. Just look at the whole 0bamacare law, all carefully timed for the really painful stuff to go live shortly after various election cycles.
The old “frog in the pot on top of the stove” trick.
