Reading that line again and again is chilling.
The beatings will continue until morale improves.
How long till the gubmint offers long term, low interest loans to those who can’t afford ACA?
Where my free helfcare be at?
Hope and chaaaaaaaaaaange. How you likey dat, white boy?
I received my family health “certificate” saying that I had health insurance for 12 months and I guess I need to add the info on the tax forms. What makes these folks think that signing up now would give them a 12 month credit? I think they will have to pay something for not having insurance for 11 months. I think they will probably proportion your health care monthly. Of course the whole thing is dumb. I never do my taxes until April and pay them on April 15. I don’t want DC to use my money any longer then I have to.
I suppose a lot of us got hands on the 1,000 plus pages but never able to read in a couple days the 2,000 page plus Soetero/Nigerian prince care. Nevertheless our ELECTED leaders and we the people forewarned all and now 2016 is here and the beast is going to eat thousands, maybe millions of people who still have jobs.
Knowing that Obamacare is on life support you would have to be out of your mind to willingly pay the fine.
White single/divorced men hardest hit.
Example:
Man who is working and making 48K a year (blue collar)
Out of that comes child support at 12K a year
Then comes taxes at around 18K a year
Net income: 18K a yaar
Child support doesn’t qualify as a valid hardship expense as it pertains to Obamacare subsidies (whereas alimony does count)
Meanwhile, the recipient of the child support does not pay taxes on it (the payor does as well as any admin fees for the collection unit) nor does recipient have to claim it as income for the purpose of taxes or getting obamacare subsidies.
I know someone personally in this situation and having to pay $700 on top of in “responsibility fees” whilst still having no health care insurance is insane. Catch 22 is that no way can someone who has a take home pay of 18K can afford health insurance premiums on top of that. A lot of small businesses, the backbone of this country, do not offer medical insurance so it’s roll the dice time.
my fil who is 89 this year has probably hacked the system for $200,000 this past year for his multiple problems including knee surgery with extensive pre surgical procedures, then rehab in a nursing home for many weeks and then at home visits, for him to basically sit in his chair and watch tv...
and now, his knee hurts because he fell and he's going to go thru multiple exams again because everyone knows no 89 yro should expect arthritic pain...
so this young fella just better fork it over...
