Real-estate mogul Donald Trump strongly objected at a Tuesday-evening press conference when a reporter did not provide the full context of one of his quotes.
The reporter noted that Trump is being criticized on the campaign trail because he said on "Meet the Press" in 1999 that he was strongly in favor of abortion rights. Critics say the quote is evidence that Trump, who has since changed his position, is untrustworthy on the issue.
"Read the full statement of what I said," Trump said as he took questions in Marshalltown, Iowa. "Read the full statement. No, no, you're not reading the full statement. Read it. ... Read the full statement."
The Republican presidential front-runner then simply said that he was pro-life and moved on to other questions.

“No most Candidates would cower to reporters especially GOP except Reagan”.
Exactly!, and why Trump is the only candidate capable of beating Hillary.
[I think Trump is about to unravel. All the signs are there.]
1. He was going to be out after the first debate
2. He was going to be out after the John McCain jab
3. He was going to be out when the public outed his fight w Ivana
4. He was going to be out after “mocking” a disabled leftist reporter/hack.
5. He was going to be out after the Cruz feud started
Yep, this display of showing balls and courage will surely sink him this time!
Trump clubbed that reporter like a baby seal. Over and over.
He just does not want to give a definitive answer on his stand this week on abortion. I know, he can change his mind next week too.
+1
“I think Trump is about to unravel. All the signs are there.”
I think your right.
Since he can’t save his friend Hillary and get her elected there is no longer a need for him to be in the race.
Because his stand on abortion does not matter! Unless there is a Constitutional Amendment declaring an unborn baby a person under the Constitution, it’s still just a tissue mass that can be disposed of at any time.
Baby killing is the official law of the land in the United States of America! Once the Supreme Court banished prayer from the Public Schools, and “conservatives” did nothing, the die was cast! Without the fear of YHWH, there is no morality!
Now, YHWH has sent us a Sampson to tear down the Temple of Dagan. (You know: doesn’t drink, bad hair, chases women, kills 100 of you friends if you cheat on a bet he made with you, slews Philistines (foreigners in Hebrew/Aramaic) with the Jawbone of an Ass, and just when they think they have him concurred, he brings the Temple down on everyone.)
Right, because backing out of a debate and calling one of the moderators a bimbo (I'm sorry, *not* calling her a bimbo ::wink:: ::wink::) is a real display of balls and courage.
::rolls eyes::
Did Reagan skip the debate because he thought one of the moderators was “unfair”?
That’s the point...he was not confronted by his own words. His statement was condensed by the reporter with the part that Trump abhors abortion eliminated from the quote.
Thank you. The haters will never understand that.
Voting time is a coming and they see the reality approaching faster and faster. Be prepared for a barrage of anti-trump postings in the next few days.
He only read part of the words Trump said in order to make it look like he was pro abortion. Trump got in his face and made him read the whole statement he made which came out and then Trump dismissed him as dishonest.
Then, later, Trump have that reporter another chance to ask a question, but first he wanted an apologize for getting the first question wrong. The reporter was too proud and Trump dismissed him again - went onto another reporter.
It was a total Trump win. Reporter looked like an idiot to the crowd.
It was an apprentice segment. LOL
Point goes to the journalist.
You do realize Trump was, as the euphemism goes, “pro-choice” nearly all of his life and until very recently he was. Wanting the Republican nomination, no doubt, led to his temporary change?
If this was the exchange where the reporter was reduced to lamely defending his giving an incomplete quote by saying it was because he didn’t have a good wifi connection on his tablet, then I definitely thought Trump got the better of the reporter. I heard the audio of it earlier today and was impressed by how effectively Trump shut the guy down.
From 1999:
RUSSERT: Partial-birth abortion — the eliminating of abortion in the third trimester. Big issue in Washington. Would President Trump ban partial-birth abortion?
TRUMP: Well, look. I’m very pro-choice. I hate the concept of abortion. I hate it, I hate everything it stands for. I cringe when I hear people debating the subject. But you still — I just believe in choice. And again, it may be a little bit of a New York background, because there is some different attitude in different parts of the country, and I was raised in New York, grew up and worked and everything else in New York City. But I am strongly for choice, and yet I hate the concept of abortion.
RUSSERT: But you would not ban it.
TRUMP: No.
RUSSERT: Or ban partial-birth abortion.
TRUMP: No, I would — I would — I am pro-choice in every respect, as far as it goes. I just hate it.
It’s a libertarian position.
