Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump used a Tuesday appearance on MSNBC to tout the fact that, as president, he would work with Democratic leaders in Congress to get things done.
He specifically talked about House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and asserted he was "close" to Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.), who is expected to replace outgoing Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.)
"I've always had a good relationship with Nancy Pelosi. I've never had a problem. Reid will be gone," Trump said on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" Tuesday. He continued:
"I always had a decent relationship with Reid, although lately, obviously, I haven't been dealing with him, so he'll actually use my name as the ultimate -- you know, as the ultimate of the billionaires in terms of, you know, people you don't want. I always had a great relationship with Harry Reid and frankly, if I weren't running for office I would be able to deal with her or Reid or anybody. But I think I'd be able to get along and work very well with Nancy Pelosi and just about everybody."

Republicans have the majority in both houses, why do we need to “reach across the aisle”? Screw the Dems. If Trump were a true conservative, he would be saying the same thing. IMHO
Go on to social media .. the Dim voters despise and loathe Trump because they know their free reign is coming to an end .. they are in total meltdown along with the so-called Conservative establishment ... the gravy train is coming to an end for both parties
A polite shake of the hand is not the same thing as making deals with the guy. Regardless, remind me of everyone’s beef with Boehner and the GOPe’s broken promises by caving into Obama all the time. This argument has come full circle and now Trump is great for saying he will do the very thing his supporters wanted him to not do.
Trump has been praising liberals and bashing conservatives yet his supporters still praise him. Unbelievable.
He doesn’t care if he wins conservatives as long as he gets the votes of the angry people.
the views are appropriate, but the expectation is that the left will bend to such ideas. The left has never wavered from their collective goals.

Opposing STUPID WARS is far from being isolationist. About the only direct combat during the 8 years of Reagan was Granada, and that was over in about a day.
If NOT being isolationist means trying to ‘nation build’ as the GOPe seems to think can work, and/or bombing the civilians of non-threatening countries (as in Belgrade, Syria, and Libya), count me as an ISOLATIONIST, since that does seem to be today’s definition.
Only if you believe that the Left in this country will suddenly abandon more than a century of continuous efforts to get where the country is now, will Trump be successful.

Trump will roll the Left ... Reagan was the last to try , but the Dims had total control for the first term . Reagan did what he could . Hopefully if Trump gets it , he will have a Repub congress that he can push around ... they are wimps

The GOP House can derail the Donald simply by not allocating any money. Donald Trump is not nearly as charismatic as you seem to believe. His force of will is meaningless. This is what you are describing.

Powerful, yes. Able to turn an election, not likely because the average Democratic voter won’t pull the lever for the GOP for any reason.
