(David) Limbaugh: Cruz Has Been Right All Along
Townhall ^ | January 25, 2016 | David Limbaugh

Posted on 01/25/2016 6:19:55 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

I believe Donald Trump's meteoric and sustained rise is a direct result of Obama's largely successful campaign to fundamentally transform America and the establishment Republicans' unwillingness to fight back.

Grassroots conservatives have wanted someone to stand up to Obama and stand up for our nation -- and they are sick and tired of Beltway politicians and pundits alike patronizingly assuring them that nothing extraordinary is occurring and to calm down. "We'll take care of it after we're re-elected." Sure.

Yes, some of these establishment, moderate or, if you prefer, unexcitable types have finally come around, belatedly acknowledging Obama's intentions but failing to admit they were slow on the uptake, much less that they're sorry for branding the rest of us who caught on years before they did as mean-spirited, extremist or kooky.

It's important to review this history, not for "I told you so" purposes, but because it's relevant to our current hotly contested GOP campaign and how we choose to go forward. It's crucial in assessing and judging Ted Cruz's actions in valiantly trying to stand up for the people against Obama's tyranny....

My agenda is accuracy.

Nice try, though.

My thought, too. How can so many be so blind to an egomaniac? I, I, I, I, and yet they lambast O’ for the SAME THING. I just don’t get it. Maybe they haven’t had the privilege of living with a sociopathic pathological liar.

I was wondering what kinds of things Trump was saying in 2000 when he was yakkin about running...

‘”Pat Buchanan has been guilty of many egregious examples of intolerance. He has systematically bashed Blacks, Mexicans, and Gays,” wrote Trump in his 2000 campaign book The America We Deserve”’

Does anyone have a copy of that book???

"It's crucial in assessing and judging Ted Cruz's actions in valiantly trying to stand up for the people against Obama's tyranny...."

With all due respect to FReepers who admire David Limbaugh and support Sen. Cruz, if what Mr. Limbaugh is saying about Cruz and Obama is true then both Limbaugh and Cruz are wrong to target Obama for the following reason. (Same problem with constitutionally low-information Trump targeting Obama imo.)

Regardless that the ”conservative” media front-end to the corrupt Washington Cartel evidently wants everybody to think that the Oval Office is the most powerful office in the land, that is simply not constitutionally true.

In fact, if patriots could somehow manage to elect a new, state sovereignty-respecing Congress in the upcoming elections, then Obama could keep the Oval Office for life if he wanted to as far as I am concerned. This is because a state sovereignty-respecting Congress would essentially impeach and remove Obama from office on the first day of his next term.

What we are seeing with respect to he corrupt media and ”conservative” politicans like Cruz demonizing Obama is corrupt Congress smartly using last-term Obama as a pawn imo.

More specifically, corrupt Congress is letting Obama steal both federal legislative branch powers, and also 10th Amendment-protected state powers, in order to make unconstitutional executive orders. This is because corrupt members of Congress would probably like to make unconstitutional bills that do the same things that Obamas executive orders do.

But unlike last-term Obama making unconstitutional executive orders, if lawmakers made unconstitutional and unpopular bills then they would risk being voted out of office in the next election. So lawmakers are letting lawless Obama do their dirty legislative work for them so that lawmakers can keep their voting records clean in order to fool low-information patriots into reelecting them.

Remember in November!

When patriots elect Cruz, or whatever conservative they elect, they need to also elect a new, state sovereignty-respecting Congress that will work within its Section 8-limited powers to support the new president.

Also consider that such a Congress would probably be willing to fire state sovereignty-ignoring activist justices.

"Many of these Cruz supporters claim that if Cruz doesn't make it, they'll vote for Bernie before they'll vote for Trump..."

I read many of these threads, and I have yet to see any that claim "that if Cruz doesn't make it, they'll vote for Bernie before they'll vote for Trump...". Could you point me to any? Thanks in advance.

We sure could have used the support of David’s bother, but Rush helped to bring on the rise of this emotionally retarded Progressive freak Trump, through his many supportive comments. Rush has made Cruz’ job that much more difficult.>>> well i’ll do a respnse here. I like both Trump and Cruz and will be happy with one or both. however. Here are Trumps conservative positions.
1. Immigration (build the wall) this is critical for our future existence. no other candidate has a position paper on this (by the way a position paper is an outline for legislation.)
2. National Defense — build up the military and take care of the vets he has a position paper on this which allows vet to have a defacto ppo. no other candidate has any position paper on this.
3. reduce taxes using existing tax code( not perfect yes we all want a different system but that won’t happen in our lifetime. Flat tax does not abolish the IRS only an excise tax or retail sales tax does that.
4 eradicate “Common core” This is also critical to our future existence. no one -— no one talks about this except every teacher i know. and Donald Trump.
5. second amendment policy — state reciprocity for all concealed carry permits.

Cruz mostly has his legislative and court experience/resume which is impressive. it just doesn’t communicate. Like when my boss says what are you doing next week and i give him my resume. just sayin. flame away

They are just mouthing. It’s a childish technique to illustrate how badly they want something. It might be true of some, but most will vote for the nominee.

Trump has used insulting as a communication style for long before the Cruz dust up. Just look at his personal insult attacks on any and all the disagree with him. His followers model the same style.

So when the inevitable compitition between the two began in earnest, that style came with it.

So Rush has exclusive rights to the family surname now? David has been a conservative writer for many years now, with his own following.

“Cruz was right, and grassroots conservatives were right. We should have stood up to Obama then and didn’t, so “

So now a large number of people have decided that you will *never* take any action, and they are not interested in giving you yet another chance.

“I don’t understand the animosity between Trump and Cruz supporters. I prefer Cruz, but I don’t see any point in trashing Trump or his supporters.”

I agree, as I said on another thread, I’m afraid these 2 will knock each other out and the gopE will get Jeb or Rubio in.
But I am worried that Cruz is riding the looney wagon with Beck to defeat.

The Rino establishment has looked in the mirror and found that Trump would be easier to make deals with than Cruz! Simple as that!

Not too long ago, I stated that I would be happy with a Cruz, or Trump, or Carson nomination. Carson has faded somewhat from my radar, and I am coming to believe that Trump has an electability edge at this point, but he also is gaining a “loose cannon” reputation with some, including myself. Seems to me that Trump is somewhat shallow, and immature, and a wheeler-dealer, and that Cruz is a solid LIFE-LONG Conservative and the real deal. Most Trump positions are subject to “dealing”, while Cruz positions are solid. I personally don’t believe that as a Conservative, we can stand any more Boehner/McConnell type deals/caves. I do not believe that Cruz will cave.

When Trump announced his run I was very happy, and said that he would be an asset to our side, and I do believe that he has helped shape this election in a very positive way, and I’m happy about the way that he has led the discussions of his issues, which are the issues of many Americans. Trump has a gift of being able to discern the feelings of the base and reflect them immediately. Whatever happens, Trump is a positive influence to the campaign.

I do plan to ultimately support the eventual nominee of the Republican party, if I have any confidence that the process was fair, but I am really in favor of the eventual complete destruction of the GOPe and all that the Boehners , McConnells, and Cornyns stand for.

“Is his last name not Limbaugh?”

The moderate Republicans are just trying to reflect from this great story, as they want a candidate the GOP establishment prefers.

Rightly so too. Levin should take some of the advice he gives out. H has gone as nutso as Glenn Beck.
