A new Reuters poll of Republicans shows that GOP frontrunner Donald Trump has expanded his national lead over rivals since his Jan. 19 endorsement by former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.
The new poll of 2,508 Republicans, taken over several days, showed Trump at 40 percent and Cruz sharply down to 10.5 percent. That's a 29.5-point margin.
Reuters' Jan. 19 results showed Trump at 33 percent to Cruz's 16 percent, which was a 17-point margin.
The Reuters poll is here, and can be adjusted to show the candidates' popularity among various subgroups. For example, Trump scored 38.4 percent among marrieds, 39 percent among people with an income of $50,000 to $70,000, 37 percent among people who earn above $150,000, and 36 percent among people older than 60.

Rubio’s case is interesting, too. IF both parents were still Cuban at the time of his birth, were they signaling that they really were hoping for a return to Cuba, that is, loyalty to Cuba?

I was just pointing out that is the highest position is government Cruz would be perfectly qualified for.
I would trust Cruz 100% (or ever bit as much as Scalia or Thomas) to rule conservatively from the bench and not be liberalfied as the years go by.
Rubio's own words make that claim, that his parents deliberately avoided US citizenship, because they considered Cuba their home and their nation.

Trump has already mentioned Ted for VP a couple of times. Trump also knows the “art of the deal” which a lot of people seem to forget.

On second thought, Cruz probably can't sue, because he has US citizenship, and Miller did not. Worth noting that petitioner Miller sued the government, not some private party. "Defendant" was the government.
Makes me wonder how the Founders would view that. It they considered a child of US citizens born overseas to be a born US citizen assuming their provisions were met, then they would consider Rubio a citizen of Cuba, wouldn’t they?
That’s what I’m hoping, someone like Sessions, popular with many and lots to add to the ticket. Someone who hasn’t been damaged so badly in this cycle. I’m really hoping he doesn’t go with a token of some kind.

The founders saw the 1790 act as naturalization. The child would not be a citizen otherwise. There is all sorts of ways to substantiate that, including a plain reading of the 1790 Act, as well as hundreds of court decisions. If you were born abroad, and you are a citizen, then you are a naturalized citizen, even if you did not participate in a naturalization ceremony (as if an infant could do so anyway).
But yeah, Cuba in fact had the same claim on Cruz that the US did, at the moment Cruz was born. Citizen parent, born abroad, citizen-at-birth of Cuba via the father. The only reason we see it different today, is that after his birth, parent's decisions landed him in the US.
And just now I notice you are talking about Rubio - but the same principle applies as to Cuban citizenship at Marco's birth.
He, and Cruz, and Obama, are all dual citizens at birth. None of them want a decision on the merits, and SCOTUS doesn't want to go their now, because the right answer will be highly disruptive of the social order.

Her BC can only give her maiden name. In order to adjudicate Ted's claim of citizenship under 8 USC 1401 (technically, it's predecessor), a consular officer or court requires more evidence. This includes marriage certificate and evidence that establishes the past US residency of the citizen parent.

I’ve been thinking Sessions, too. I’ve heard that Trump had consulted Sessions at the beginning of the campaign. If true, he got some good advice and probably was schooled on some things.
