OBAMA: I Hope The GOP Picks Someone More 'Constructive' than Donald Trump

In an interview published Monday morning, President Barack Obama said he hopes that the Republican Party nominates someone more moderate than the party's current presidential front-runners.

Obama, speaking with Politico correspondent Glenn Thrush, implicitly compared the 2016 race to his own opponent in 2008: Sen. John McCain (R-Arizona).

"When I ran against John McCain, John McCain and I had real differences, sharp differences, but John McCain didn't deny climate science," Obama recalled.

Obama’s worried. He thinks if the US elects someone outside the Washington Cartel that his administration’s legacy will be shown for what it is: totalitarian, felonious, treasonous and anti-Christian.

Great endorsement for Trump.

And Cruz. Except that Trump has far more in common with Obama than does Cruz. It's not even close.

Trump, in 2013, endorsed communist Bill De Blasio for New York City mayor. He supports Obama's opening up to communist Cuba. He loves KGB Putin. He, in his mid-50s, supported gays in the military AND partial birth abortion.

DONALD TRUMP [on Larry King Show (2009), referring to the then newly elected communist president]: "Well, I really like him. I think that he's working very hard. He's trying to rebuild our reputation throughout the world. I mean, we really have lost a lot of reputation in the world. The previous administration [GW Bush] was a total disaster, a total catastrophe."

And I'm not saying I agree with everything he's doing. I do agree with what they're doing with the banks. Whether they FUND THEM or NATIONALIZE them, it doesn't matter, but you have to keep the banks going."

And that's just the tip of the iceberg!

I hear what you’re saying.

Could you write a summary that ties it all together, with some of the words clickable to the link that supports each specific claim? Sometimes that makes it easier to follow the meat of the argument without being intimidated or confused by the sheer length of the comment, and yet allows skeptics to see the substantiation easily.

I don’t know how to do the HTML coding to get it to work that way, which is one reason I write in Wordpress and than transfer the writing to here, when I want to post detailed documentation. That could be an option for you too, or if you’re handy with HTML (or have somebody who could coach you through it) you could do it that way.

Does that make sense? I know the frustration. People call it a wild, crazy claim if you don’t document your reasons but if you document your reasons they say it’s too long. sigh.

Apparently you just read the headline and not the story. In the story it references both Trump and Cruz, but the headline only mentions Trump. So people are jumping to conclusions based on not actually reading the article.

I know what it said. And Ted is about to be in the same byline as Ben Carson. Right now, the Obama endorsement of Trump for the general election is all that matters. Cuz Ted ain’t going to win the nomination.

Sweet! Awesome endorsement for Trump and Cruz! In fact, they could hardly have a better endorsement: obama does NOT like them!

sigh. By that same reasoning Obama also endorsed Cruz. Doesn’t make any difference; people see what they want to see. That’s why we’ve gotten where we’re at as a society right now. Truthfulness and accuracy don’t really matter.

I hate politics.

LS obviously agrees with Trump’s many leftist-supporting statements and positions. He must also believe that KGB Putin is someone to be trusted and admired. Like I said, it’s a crazy dumb-a** world we’re living in today. God help this country.

There are facts and there is truth. The TRUTH is both were mentioned, but in reality it’s only going to matter for one of them.

More constructive than calling white people racists for simply being white?

Or, maybe claiming Jews in Israel are the terrorists for defending themselves from rocket attacks?

Boy, I go on and on about what a racist divider Zero is.

Nice touch.

In my 16 years on FreeRepublic, there's normally an inverse relationship between the snarkiness of a poster's reply and the degree of their emotional maturity.

Good idea, although I'd rather have these important facts out there in bold type front and center. Some people need to be knocked over the head for them to wake up and know what's going on. However, I will consider it. It could potentially work.

LS and others might have other reasons for supporting Trump, but politics is mostly about one-line zingers and emotions, which reduces us all to the level of 2nd-graders. I wish the fate of this once-great nation didn’t hang in the balance of who appeals most to a 2nd-grade mentality.

I think Cruz has the better brain and Trump the better brawn. I’d love them to be on the same team. But I suspect our enemies are just using this gladiator match as a distraction while the boa wraps around our necks to kill the USA before a new POTUS can be inaugurated.

My sister said she’s trying to figure out who to support in the primary and is just kind of sick of all of it. She figures it must be about time for the Lord to return. And I suspect Obama is working toward the things that Revelation says will happen before Jesus returns. I don’t know. Maybe it’s gonna happen and there’s no way to stop it. The boa is already wound too far around our whole body by now. That’s what the Foreign Enemy Combatant was put into our White House to get done these past 7 years. The 2nd-graders in Congress haven’t done a thing to stop that boa.

I think the best any of us can do is to prepare. Sure, fight for the preferred candidate, but don’t let it keep you from getting ready because I think you and I both know the boa is there, and deadly.

For the record, Glenn Beck was one of a very rare few in a prominent media position to ever get into the ins and outs of the modern communist movement. He named names and connected the dots. And he did it in a clear and organized "classroom-like" manner via blackboards, graphics and video. He went into things that neither Hannity nor Limbaugh still haven't the slightest clue about. This despite all of the money and research tools they have available to them.

He schooled millions on the in-depth activities of today's communist left through his once popular Fox News show. He got into some heavy detail of who they are, what they are, who their various front groups are, and their affiliates in the demonRat party. No one in such a prominent media position as he, before or since, have come close to doing the sort of things he did. If not anything else, you have to at least give the guy credit for that. No way in hell would Obama or any of his ilk want a guy like him to have his own popular TV show.

I think he meant to say “more progressive,” like the usual suspects in the GOP.
