Natalie Maines infamously spoke her mind about war and then-President George W. Bush back in 2003, when she told a London crowd that she was âashamed that the President of the United States is from Texas.â Now, the Dixie Chicks member is bringing that comment back to mind and voicing her opinion on Republican presidential candidate (and fellow Texan) Ted Cruz.

The Dixie Chicks are still going? I saw a movie (made by them) several years ago where they claimed the FReepers (naming yours truly specifically) destroyed them for dissing President Bush during an overseas performance. Guess we didn’t do a geed enough job.
Another reason to not listen to her music.
Obama wrecked Iraq and the Middle East by design.
Apparently, as a Texan, she does not care for her fellow Texans.
Why are you always rude. I haven’t heard anything except people’s disgust with that hag.
In retrospect the Dixie Chicks were right about Bush and the Iraq invasion.
Her comment about Bush dealt with the fact she was ashamed of sharing the same state with him, not about the sagacity of the Iraq war...stating an opinion carries no ‘right’ nor wrong with it...
Pay attention...
Don’t worry about her and a few others on here. They do not know how to be nice. Always negative. Bless their little hearts. I do not remember her ever being positive.
Hey Nat, I thought Laura Ingraham told you and your Chicks to “Shut Up And Sing”?
Now, Shut Up And Sing!
Sadly she drug two other great female performers down with her.
How’s the career, Gnat?
Thanks for the link. Great job, FReepers!
Hard to believe the Dixie Chicks were once on the Top Of The World and threw it all away just to spew a little political hate and venom.
But it seems they haven’t been able to connect the dots yet.
Is Natalie No-Brains now trying to drive away the very few country fans who still listen to them after their other foolish political rants?
Lol love it.
I’m ashamed that Natalie Maines is an American.
Is she the fat little loudmouth or one of the normal sized loudmouth?
It is a shame that they had so little idea of exactly who it was that listened to blue-grass-flavored-country-pop music. This one’s big mouth ended their career with a bang.
And just in case people might have forgotten, she wakes up to remind them. I’ll bet her partners are thinking, “Thanks Natalie... for making sure our careers stay dead”.
The article mentions their band going on tour. So, she must’ve sent out that tweet for publicity. That’s the only way her band can get publicity these days. LOL.
They never learn. :-)
