Donald Trump: I could ‘shoot somebody’ and still have support (audience laughing and clapping)
Washington Post ^

Posted on 01/23/2016 12:36:42 PM PST by springwater13

"They say I have the most loyal people - did you ever see that? - where I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn't lose any voters," Trump said, illustrating his point by pulling his fingers into a gun shape. "Okay? It's like incredible."

The crowd laughed and clapped, and someone in the audience shouted out love for the candidate.

"We love you, too, man," Trump said.

Trump's comment came during a campaign rally Saturday at Dordt College in northwest Iowa. The 1,500-seat theater completely filled, hundreds more watched his speech from an overflow room.

Orgy of hate? Seriously? When did NY become ashamed of being liberal. And calling it hate? OMG get a grip!

Fact is Trump has a welded bond with millions of his American supporters. It’s historic and not seen in modern America. You’d have to dial back to the founders to see this type of relationship between a leader and the people.

As good an explanation as I’ve seen yet.

Bears and balls...

A Cruz spokesperson announced to The Blaze Thursday that Cruz would be “glad to join Glenn Beck” in McAllen, Texas to “provide some relief from the suffering this administration is causing.”

Cruz’s spokesperson, Catherine Frazier, reiterated to Breitbart News that “from day one, Sen. Cruz has been leading the charge to stop President Obama’s lawlessness, which is the direct cause of this humanitarian crisis.” She said Cruz argues that, at the same time, “these young children are very real victims of the President’s promise of amnesty-because of it, they have been subjected to horrific physical and sexual abuse from international drug cartels smuggling them into the country.”

Not desperate, just frustrated as ever. The most qualified and most proven conservative candidate in decade comes along, and half of Freerepublic runs to an empty celebrity, known for a reality TV show and a huge ego, who has openly endorsed highly liberal positions (just to get along in NYC, but why would you expect different in the White House?), and now openly admits that his followers would blindly support him no matter what... and they do. He is an opportunist, and about to fall into the most important office on earth, and he has no ties to any conservative cause, and has offered no reason to believe that he will do anything that we hope for, other than saying and doing what he needs to win, which he has done his entire life. My (and I think our) frustration is that the fervent Trump supporters cannot see this blind faith in nothing, even as Trump makes jokes in public about it! That’s troubling!!

“Cruz supporters would love people on Fifth Avenue to be shot.”

Question (I like Cruz best but for sake of argument) do you think Trump will use executive power to control businesses or will he be the ultimate capitalist and let businesses run freely without intervention except, except, to make it worthwhile for capitalists to bring their businesses back to the states? Speaking of which, will those businesses that built plants elsewhere take the loss of having moved out in the first place?

Don’t you think Trump will continue to make “deals” not directives? Do you think he will not follow the constitution and not work with Congress?

Not all Cruz supporters are desperate or think of those who like Trump as cultists. Think about who would like Cruz. I liked him after listening to his first campaign speech at Liberty. I liked listening to Trump, too. I listened to more Trump speeches because I want to know him better. There are probably a LOT of Cruz supporters who are lurking and not posting crap. There are a few super passionate Cruz supporters who are yelling. That is their right.

For me, Trump has to talk about the nation’s abomination of pre-born genocide. He doesn’t. It is the elephant in the room because no matter what he wants to do, if God is mad He has a good reason and God will not continue to bless a nation that destroys His greatest blessing, our children.

“Not desperate, just frustrated as ever.”

Hey Teacher -

I can’t speak for everybody - but I can see how you would be frustrated.. I really like Ted Cruz - always have and I think that the majority of Trump people would agree.

My main thing is - I’m fairly certain that Cruz can not win the general election and at the very least it’s too much of a risk when we are staring down the barrel of Bernie or Hillary..

That said, I don’t consider myself to be a LIV and I do consider myself to be quite conservative and I’m not all that worried about Trump and am actually really enjoying the media and the GOP being completely destroyed by Trump.

Everything that is happening HAD to happen.. I would guess that you feel it too - we all worked hard to get a GOP congress - we got hosed by McCain and we kicked ourselves in the pants with Romney.. We had tidal wave victories all over the country - to what avail??

I’m just so done with all of it - and Trump is pulling back the curtains on all the naked corruption of the uniparty.. I’m going to support that win or lose -

Of note - I’ll be the 1st person on this board to eat my shoe if Trump turns out to be a wolf in sheeps clothing -

lol, Trump is laughing at his cultist followers.

He could announce he favors taxpayer funded abortions, repeal 2nd amendment and complete amnesty for illegals and he wouldn’t lose any votes.
That’s how cults work.

“Remember, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran? I believe that was from McCain.”

That originated in 1979 after the beginning of the hostage crisis in Iran.
