The GOP establishment capitulates to Donald Trump (it's what they do best!!)

Here's an interesting confluence of events. On the same day that the news is filled with accounts of the GOP establishment coming to terms with Donald Trump, the Donald releases his first attack ad against Ted Cruz - a spot that doubles down on exactly the same sort of immigration rhetoric the GOP establishment types had hoped the GOP would move away from, for the good of the party.

Numerous articles this morning chronicle the various ways that GOP establishment figures are beginning to accommodate themselves to the possibility of a Trump nomination. The Post reports that some in the GOP establishment are privately reaching out to Trump, and others are persuading themselves that Trump could actually win the general election. Bloomberg reports that deep-pocketed GOP donors are coming around to the view that Trump can be negotiated with.

Donald trump - “You know what? There’s a point at which: Let’s get to be a little establishment,” “We’ve got to get things done folks, OK? Believe me, don’t worry. We’re going to make such great deals.”

Yes, Trump teamed up with the RINO establishment and then the Democrats can kill off conservatism once and for all.

See, Cruz people?

When you beat their brain in, they SURRENDER TO YOU.

When you sit around for months, and avoid taking anyone on, then you go home early.

Running around saying “well they liked Trump anyway”, is just pathetically admitting that Cruz’s plan of waiting to the last minute to actually run and let Trump have the field to himself, was flat-out irresponsible.

Trump will be good against GOP leadership. They will capitulate against him all the time

They aren’t capitulating, they are welcoming him to the party. When the Donald said we need to become a little bit like the establishment all they heard was the dinner bell.

Cruz had almost three months to establish himself before Trump even announced. He failed, then Trump addressed issues Americans really care about and Cruz was left looking pretty weak and timid on critical issues.

Ted’s attempts to flip/flop and catch up haven’t been very impressive.

Maybe he thought that the base was smart enough and fed up enough to actually vote for a conservative this time.

Guess he was wrong.

We get another establishment candidate.

He'll make such great deals, though!

It’s ALL they do.

Just thinking! If that is all that they do, then Donald will have the same success with them that Obama has had.

Just thinking out loud.

“Maybe he thought that the base was smart enough and fed up enough... “

So in other words, he was arrogant, entitled, careless and lazy.

But yeah, it’s OUR fault. Reminds me of a Hitler quote at the end of the war:

“Everyone has lied to me, everyone has deceived me… The German people have not fought heroically. It deserves to perish… it is not I who have lost the war, but the German people.”

He will, just as Ronald Reagan did with Speaker of The House Tip O'Neill.

It must have infuriated O'Neill when Reagan steamrolled him by using public support for his policies, just as it will infuriate the Speaker of the House during Trumps tenure.

The GOPe is the French Army of politics.

In fact, they give cheese-eating surrender monkeys a bad name.

Let’s face it... they can’t be TOTALLY stupid (although ample evidence could be given)

Even they have to see the huge coat tails that Trump will bring to this election and the even larger GOP majority we will have because of it.

-or-

They will do their best to sink their own candidate like the idiot NY GOP did to Paladino when running against Cuomo

When rape is inevitable, lean back and enjoy it. The GOPe has more than met its match in Donald J. Trump, the next President of the United States.
