Last night, National Review published articles from twenty conservative intellectuals âAgainst Trump.â This afternoon, publisher Jack Fowler sent this letter to friends of the magazine:
Dear Friend,
Today is a big day for National Review. Our editors have made a very forceful defense of conservatism, of principle, and against the politics of attitude, in our editorial, Against Trump.
We have received angry calls, and cancel Âmy subscription demands. One in particular broke my heart. Well, letâs hope time heals.
None of this was unexpected.
But: We have also received very strong expressions of support from many NR friends. People who believe ÂÂ and they are right to believe this ÂÂ that the main reason National Review exists is to do the very thing it is doing today.
Defending conservative principle. Defending it from being marginalized, or recast as emotion and bluster instead of as an expression of reason and intelligence.
On behalf of Rich Lowry and my colleagues, thank you for standing with us. Or, better, thanks for letting us stand alongside you as we embrace the Buckley mission: To stand athwart history, yelling stop.
Best,
Jack Fowler

I wouldn’t pay my subscription in full maybe month by month they won’t be in business that long!!!
They may consider themselves conservatives. But they are obviously out of touch with the Republican base.
No. There are roughly 70% of us who do not plan to vote for Trump.
As one who has zero trust in him - remember the old days when everyone checked a politician’s record? A couple of changes of mind like Rubio and they were done.
It was good that they spoke for the MAJORITY of us.
Just plain OUCH!
NR stopped being relevant as conservatives when they came out early on for Romney based on his JFK religion ripoff speech.
His imagined flip-flops are dwarfed by many orders of magnitude compared to the master, trump.
Endorsing partial birth abortion? ??
C’mon. Only subhuman filth think that stuff should be legal.
I think your percentages are WAY OFF, but just keep dreaming, and remember if the NR had their way they would be forcing JEB!!! down your throat!!!
I heard they had less than 150k subscribers anyway. Lol
Wow! I had no idea that Glenn Beck has an identical twin!
If WFB was still here he would condemn the editors for this attack.
But then if he was still here this issue would never have bee written let alone published.
Why did they write this? They want to be seen as the ones with prestige, looked up to, and Trump threatens all that because he isn’t part of their elitist club.
They will wish they never wrote it, National Rino will be folding shortly...trash establishment rag.
But I also support limited government, entitlement reform, and paid health care not being a universal right. Trump's on the wrong said of all those.
I don't see much value in keeping all those undocumented Democrats out of the country if we just vote someone in who will enact the same crap anyway.
Are you still stuck in 1999 prior to Trump coming out as Pro-Life?
So, which of the birth-right citizenship positions of Ted Cruz should I accept? The 2011 version or today's version?
I signed up. I stand with them and Cruz. I do not respond to Trump hate messages to me so save your fingers and bother someone else.
Their campaign against Trump worked... it just didn’t work the way they wanted it to.
National RINOview ceased being a conservative publication long ago.
Funny how NR finally takes a stand for conservatism and is punished for it.
They’re right. Trump is a liberal phony and people who can’t stand the truth are cancelling their subscriptions.
I think the only other time I’ve posted that was to Trett Lott and his RINO cohorts years ago. THAT’S how disgusted i am with these elitist, globalist, intellectually-impaired egoists who think they’re so much smarter than the rest of us in the heartland. They see nothing wrong with our no-border country being invaded by future democrats. Imbeciles!
January 2015:
“It depends when. “
trump is still a pro-abort.
At least the weather is nice where you live
How many people will join?
I just did.
