Beck: Trump's Use of Nationalism, Populism 'Dangerous Combination,' 'Makings of Adolf Hitler'
Breitbart ^

Posted on 01/22/2016 10:46:43 AM PST by springwater13

"That's why you should be freaking out," he added. "Look, we have nothing against Donald Trump as a man. We don't. It's just this is a very dangerous combination and I have been warning against it since Fox. I said keep your eyes open because it will come. The pendulum will swing the other way and it will be bad. The only other thing you have to add to that - he's talking about populism and nationalism. If you add socialism - populism, nationalism and socialism, you have the makings of Adolf Hitler. You don't somebody who is a nationalist, a populist and has any kind of socialist or nationalizing the banks kind of ideas. Not a good idea, not a good idea."

Civil discourse is all any of us should have. I am quite aware of Germany in the 1930s. I find that many are irrational in support of either candidate. Trump supporters overlook a lot of his flaws and Cruz supporters totally dismiss some serious concerns that have arisen regarding Cruz of late. The Robert Mercer connection for instance or his conflicting stance on amnesty and some votes.

To me both men are flawed humans and people will decide which is most tolerable to them. But the Hitler crap is overboard as are all the personal insults both side throw out. Both candidates have some very positive qualities also. It might be better for posters to offer informative facts and let others decide rather than belittle, name call and alienate others. I have always found FR to be a great source of information that I can research. Recently it has been so harsh I feel more intimidated and judged than informed.

Either Beck missed or purposely ignored the context of Rush’s comments the day before. Rush was speaking about Samuel Francis’ advice to Pat Buchanan during his run for President. The “nationalism and populism” comment was made in that context, which was not mentioned by Beck on his comments made the next day on his radio show. Don’t know if he elaborated on it further.

One has to have the whole context to understand Rush’s point which Beck seems to have skewed toward his own views.

Here’s Rush on the point:
http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2016/01/20/understanding_trump_s_appeal

Rush had a few more comments today on the issue - basically that Pat couldn’t afford to take Francis’ advice.

Beck sez... “Vote for Ted. He won’t become Hitler!”

I don’t know. I just get the feeling that the republic is long gone and the false choice of D and/or R needs to be blown up. When the people get fed up they can rise up and make things different/better.

Trump can lead that charge. The other one who can is Bernie, but that would be the opposite direction. None of the others have anything to offer that appeals to me. Cruz did, but this calculating sucker punch in Iowa turned me against him. It’s like he’s playing the political version of the knockout game.

Interestingly, Obama’s desire to fundamentally transform America might happen in a way no one expected.

But that is just my opinion.

Go Trump.

I knew this would happen—The left always compares their enemies to Adolph—when they start to lose. Beck has really jumped the shark this time. Cruz would be wise to Dump Cry baby as soon as he can. I can not see Trump becoming a Hitler—Obama is more like Hitler than Trump—what If Obama cancells the election—because of some Crisis (Global Warming?) Will Beck cheer then?

Chalk it up to poor judgment - you know, the very thing Cruz accused Trump and Carson of not having. He’s using Beck because he wants the Mormon vote.

Because the Nazi meme is coming from folks OTHER than the “PC Crowd.” THAT is how and why.

Very civil discourse. We may differ and that is acceptable.

My point of the 1932 Elections is not the candidate, but the mass hysteria over him without reasoning or perceiving what the consequences may be.

Obama himself stated exactly what he was going to do, but his mass hysteria following elected him anyway, we see the consequences of that now.

I too want the voters to step back and think about what may be, and stop following a Rock Star just to be part of the "It" crowd.

Thanks for being Civil.

What in the hell is Cruz doing even being in the same room as this Loony Tune Beck? I do not get Teds thinking on this deal at all.

It's a mutual admiration society. This is just a follow-up event after their teddy bears at the border joint effort.

Annie,

One thing you are overlooking is that Trump supporters listen to him and like what he says.

My mother, a lifelong democrat, told me, “ I like Donald. He tells it like it is.”

Cruz at least has tried to defund Obamacare and has fought against these outrageous spending bills.

Everyone knew he had no chance of succeeding under the prevailing circumstances, but it did get Ted some great publicity leading up to his presidential primary campaign.

I think Ted is making a very risky play that there actually is a silent majority of Christians who stay home. Maybe that is true and will work, but it is a huge risk.

Trump has something Hitler never had—a sence of humor. He can laugh at himself. Hitler was a good speaker but dogged by his own hates and fears. I do not see that with Trump—I will conceed that they both have big egos—but that would be true of all great men from Chruchill to Caesar.

Beck likely demanded the Presidential Press Secretary position in return for his endorsement.

OH contraire, that is exactly the problem. Germany once listened to their leader as well..only because the were ANGRY and scared....they too liked what they heard.

Am I saying Trump is HITLER........NO, NO, NO.

Just trying to get people to stop and think about following in the masses just because. Stop and ponder what Trump is saying what he wants to do.

Obamas followers like what he was saying as well, we suffer the consequences, yet we tried to warn them.

Hitler was a good speaker but dogged by his own hates and fears.

"You know, not many people knew it, but the Fuhrer was a terrific dancer. That is because you were taken in by that verdammte Allied propaganda! Such filthy lies! They told lies!"

"But nobody ever said a bad word about Winston Churchill, did they? No! "Win with Winnie!" Churchill! With his cigars, with his brandy. And his ROTTEN painting! Rotten! Hitler, THERE was a painter! He could paint an entire apartment in one afternoon! TWO COATS!"

"Churchill. He couldn't even say "Nazi". He would say "Nooooozeeehz, Nooooozeeehz!" It wasn't NOSES, it was NAZIS! Churchill! Let me tell you THIS! And you're hearing this straight from the horse - Hitler was better looking than Churchill. He was a better dresser than Churchill. He had more hair! He told funnier jokes! And he could dance the PANTS off of Churchill!"

He must think that Beck still has some admirers and influence. But who knows what the heck Beck will say if given a chance to speak for any length of time at the joint event. They better pre-censor the guy, if at all possible.

That is really each persons decision to make not something you can foist on them anymore than they should do to you. I appreciate all the information/facts posted that I can research and make an informed decision. It is the “strong arm” pushing and hurtful comments that take away from reasonable informed decisions. Freepers are not the only ones who will vote so influencing people we disagree with here won’t win the election for whoever’s candidate but it does hurt civility here and makes us less likely to think about facts. This was not just directed at you but there are some truly abrasive people on both sides.
