Trump has something Hitler never had—a sence of humor. He can laugh at himself. Hitler was a good speaker but dogged by his own hates and fears. I do not see that with Trump—I will conceed that they both have big egos—but that would be true of all great men from Chruchill to Caesar.
"You know, not many people knew it, but the Fuhrer was a terrific dancer. That is because you were taken in by that verdammte Allied propaganda! Such filthy lies! They told lies!"
"But nobody ever said a bad word about Winston Churchill, did they? No! "Win with Winnie!" Churchill! With his cigars, with his brandy. And his ROTTEN painting! Rotten! Hitler, THERE was a painter! He could paint an entire apartment in one afternoon! TWO COATS!"
"Churchill. He couldn't even say "Nazi". He would say "Nooooozeeehz, Nooooozeeehz!" It wasn't NOSES, it was NAZIS! Churchill! Let me tell you THIS! And you're hearing this straight from the horse - Hitler was better looking than Churchill. He was a better dresser than Churchill. He had more hair! He told funnier jokes! And he could dance the PANTS off of Churchill!"
THAT is the historical analogy that I see. And for pete's sake, the world's best and most solid advice is to put anger and desire for vengeance aside before you move forward. Yet people are flat praising Trump for appealing to their anger and desire for vengeance -- "Stick it to them, that damned ol' GOPe! Deport those damned illegals NOW, by the busload!! I love seeing liberals heads explode!"
Sheesh. Indulging anger and vengeance for the established power. Wrong mission, wrong goal.
My goal with my vote is to advance limited government conservatism; for more than 30 years I thought that was what the Republican party stood for, but it has left me. It left me back in '08, with McCain. Palin will get me to vote for a wrong guy only once.
