I agree DT is a fantastically successful businessman. He did not squander his inherited fortune. He put it to good work and multiplied it many times.
It’s DT’s politics I really don’t like.
The ONLY way to determine prevailing opinion over time on FR in terms of a large group of individuals, is to go to the hard work and effort of keeping tally myself, and readjusting it as people change sides. My list is a cumulative list covering a long period. There have even been a few names that have come OFF the Trump list and put ON the non-Trump list in the past few days, the opposite of what I expected to happen with Palin's endorsement.
FReepers -- the silent majority, anyway -- happily surprise me with their wisdom. Many of the names on the list of the louder, more aggressive minority, are familiar to me over the years as being wrong most of the time on any given issue, so I'm not in the least surprised to see them there.
Would be very interesting to see how many switched from Trump to Cruz just this past month.

There are a lot of posts frothing at the keyboard around here which would belie that statement.
If Trump wins, I will pray for the best, at best. We'll see what happens if that is the case.
I DO think we have one chance to get it right. I believe this election is important to the survival of our country. Which is why I and others are suspicious of another cult of personality developing. If you aren't seeing that around Trump, you are the one in denial.

To me, Ted’s fatal flaw is that he has already been painted into a corner. He did this to himself and he has zero room to move. Unfortunately, there are not enough purists to give him a victory in the general election.
Trump can win and he will do a lot of good things. Maybe not everything the religious right wants, but plenty of what Americans want.
Ted would have been better off staying with Donald and getting the VP slot. He’s young enough and being the VP to Trump would have been great for credibility and learning how to appeal to *everyone*.
Economic crashes seem to happen so conveniently during and up to elections.
It is the main cause of Totalitarian “change-agents” rising to the top. At least in recent history.
Beck is stark raving mad and has been for awhile, but I’ve always had my suspicions that our population if pushed enough could elect somebody who’s actions could trigger something similar to the French Revolution.
Heck, the left was so angry with W after 8 years that we got Obama. The right (and rightfully so perhaps) is so furious with Obama that (gasp) Trump might be elected.
We’re so far down the road to Totalitarianism anyways that it wouldn’t take much for us to actually be there. Even if it comes from the right.
IMHO (and I’m not trying to be sarcastic by any stretch) but we really need to pray and humble ourselves for this election. That’s not an endorsement of any candidate. There’s a lot of confusion in the air being whipped up by the father of lies.

That has been the chief beef of conservatives, so much so that many have been accused of staying home last time and getting Duh-1 back in (not that I believe that, I think fraud was the deciding factor). So why are Conservatives willing to shed their values and jump on the bandwagon?
Is it because he steps on all the right toes? Because he disses the people who 'need it'?
Because he is brash?
Or because he is good at making deals and marketing?
As I have said, he already dealt away 10% of your MPG in Iowa and said he would have the EPA enforce that (which means he isn't getting rid of the EPA). What's on the table next to get the Donald to the White Hut? Private property? RKBA? What will he be willing to trade (of yours and mine--he has his) to make the deal?
If sticking with someone of principle is being a "purist", If defending the Constitution of the United States and Bill of Rights makes me a "purist", then I wear the badge proudly.
It just saddens me that so many of my fellow Americans seem to be ashamed of that.

Sorry. Not buying it. It sounds like you simply prefer either:
a) The ego gratification of adding it all up yourself or
b) The method which puts your own choice up on top.
In any case, all of this will be pointless in a couple of weeks, when it will be abundantly clear who’s going to win the nomination and who’s not.
Then, things will get really interesting around here, as the Cruzers will either bow to the inevitable, or continue to wail away against Trump, fully aware they’re helping Hillary with every post they make.

Glenn Beck, compares Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler and then says he doesn’t have anything against the man? If this is any indication of the kind of political advice, Ted Cruz is getting lately, it’s no wonder he’s going down in the polls.
I will forever be grateful to Donald Trump for exposing so many of these fruitcakes out there. It reminds me of some of my charismatic (religiously speaking) friends, who see a demon on every doorknob. They have convinced themselves that everything is of the devil and/or evil to the point they can’t obey the scriptures that says, “Don’t be anxious about anything” and “Rejoice in the Lord always,” as the Bible tells us to do. And I would tell these so-called conservatives that Donald Trump has already done more for this country than all of them combined. My God, and I thought the leftists were radical.
Some Cruz supporters seem that way, too, often in response to vitriolic assaults by Trump worshipers.
For me, selecting a candidate has always been a process of elimination.
Cruz was the last one in the group still standing.
