Trump: I Have a ‘Really Good Chance of Winning New York’
Breitbart ^ | 01/22/16 | Pam Key

Posted on 01/22/2016 9:27:40 AM PST by Enlightened1

Thursday on Fox News Channel's "Hannity," Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said he had a shot at winning New York State, to which he said would clinch the presidency for him over Hillary Clinton.

Trump said, "Well, I think I'm not only more electable, I think I'll win the election. You saw the fox poll last week saying I beat Hillary Clinton and I think I will beat any one of them. I think she's probably more difficult than wacky Bernie and I think I will beat them. I will just beat them. As an example, I think I'll win Pennsylvania. I think I'll win Ohio. You saw my numbers in Florida where I am beating everybody. I'm at 48% and Bush and -- who is a former governor is like at 9% or 10%. Rubio, the senator -- I'm at 48% in Florida. Plus I employ tremendous numbers of people in Florida. Florida loves Trump and I love Florida so I think I'm going to win Florida. I think I have a really good chance of winning New York. If we win New York, the whole ball game is over because nobody even ever anticipates winning New York because it's so powerful in terms of the process we are talking about. West Virginia, I heard it is like a love fest. Because they understand my feeling toward coal and everything else. But West Virginia, Virginia, I think I'm going to win states that are not on the agenda for Republicans to win."

I agree with him there.

Yes, I agree with you. This is a PAC, probably right out of Wall Street, as probably no one else would care, is my thinking.

I believe the media is beginning to coalesce around calling this race.

We’ve seen this happen before and been flummoxed that they could do such a thing before a single vote, but I acutely recall how it worked in 2008, in the Obama-Clinton battle.

I remember half the world wanting her out of the race in FEBRUARY(!), and could not understand why she was even staying in, only to flail around for votes and embarrass herself, in South Carolina.

The media wanted her out. She was down to begging super delegates to back her as the only way to stem the tide.

This is going to happen to Cruz, beginning soon. And, Cruz is just no Hillary. He is not a “legend”. imho.

Thanks, Dr.

Ugh - living here you know a much different picture. Trump is not loved in NYC and there’s no way he’s going to get the City to back him.

NYC drives the rest of the state. He can win Upstate and Long island and still lose.

He’s not winning NY just like he’s not winning Illinois or California.

It’s amazing, he can say anything and some on this site just buy it without looking at any facts. well, impressive actually.

Now you know why the Establishment is backing him.

Maybe. But he certainly has nothing to lose in going after New York.

If the dems are reduced to defending their blue state advantage, it will say something.

Yup, and later Trump ads will play up that piece from the debate. He’ll pick up millions of votes from NYC area.

Clinton actually got more votes than Obama in the primaries. Obama cleaned up in the caucuses. Reagan also got more votes than Ford in 1976, but Ford was able to get the "uncommitted" delegates en masse from NY and PA.

This primary season is so different than every other season. As long as there is no danger of an Establishment candidate winning in some states, there is notghing wrong with Cruz staying in, representing values and ideals that Trump doesn't cover, and Trump may as well stay in to keep the Establishment at bay if he doesn't win everything. Until Trump can clear 50% in elections, Trump supporters DON'T want a bunch of other candidates dropping out.

I agree - no need to lay down but the dynamics in NY are against him plus as much as the majority here might like him, the average NYer does not.

He’s more likely to win a Wheezy Jefferson lookalike contest.

Yeah, there's this absurd idea around FR that Trump is very popular in NYC. That is simply not true in any way. I hear people in my NYC office talking politics all the time and they despise Trump (Cruz too, for the record - any Republican). But Trumpsters invent these ideas in their heads, then tell their trumpy friends who repeat it back to them later and they all celebrate like it's suddenly true.

I’d love to see PA go red for this presidential election. Trump is our only chance of that happening.

People may say one thing in the office and vote another way outside of it.

Trump: I Have a ‘Really Good Chance of Winning New York’

He's being conservative.

I'd say.. Trump has a VERY Good Chance of Winning New York.

I say that because many New Yorkers that I know are telling me he's very liked among Democrats and Republicans of ALL races because of what he's done and meant to NY over the years.. My point: To a large number of New Yorkers Trump is a "Good Guy."

It should be food for thought. No conservative is going to win NY.

Make America great again.....how? We’ll do it. When? When we can. With who? With those who want to help. Where? Everywhere.

There is absolutely no outpouring of Trumplove in NYC. I walk through Madison Square Park every lunch hour, I ride the subways everyday, I eat in the delis, I hang around with stagehands and musicians and bankers. The rare times I’ve heard Trump spoken of it’s always been snarky or dismissive. Anytime he’s mentioned in a tabloid here or pictured on a front page its in a negative context. NYC as a Trump-loving town is a myth perpetuated by trumpy people who don’t live or work here.
