Trump nevertheless offers a valuable warning for the Republican party. If responsible men irresponsibly ignore an issue as important as immigration, it will be taken up by the reckless. If they cannot explain their Beltway maneuvers - worse, if their maneuvering is indefensible - they will be rejected by their own voters. If they cannot advance a compelling working-class agenda, the legitimate anxieties and discontents of blue-collar voters will be exploited by demagogues. We sympathize with many of the complaints of Trump supporters about the GOP, but that doesn't make the mogul any less flawed a vessel for them.
Some conservatives have made it their business to make excuses for Trump and duly get pats on the head from him. Count us out. Donald Trump is a menace to American conservatism who would take the work of generations and trample it underfoot in behalf of a populism as heedless and crude as the Donald himself.

Um, where were they in January 2008 when radical Progressive John McCain started leading the field? Funny how these so-called 'conservatives' weren't alarmed then.
They are going all in against Trump.
They may just find out how little influence they actually have.
Jimbo, that hilarious grim photo of 4 hanging judges is not making your case. They look like the Hateful Four and are getting the same reviews that movie got.
I wish we could stop calling people conservative who think it means globalism, huge profits for big banks and out-of-control corporations, politicians that can be bought off and cheap foreign labor. And have nothing but disdain for us little folk who want the US to go back to our traditions and Constitution.
Maybe we ALL need to write them via FB or Twitter or emails and tell them why THEY ARE OUT OF STEP with fly over country!!
The failing @NRO National Review Magazine has just been informed by the Republican National Committee that they cannot participate in debate

To my blue collar ears, that excerpt sounds like a lot of fancy mumbo jumbo that ends up saying nothing. However, I will respect their wishes and count them out. If I had a subscription I’d cancel it. It appears they have a website I have never visited so that will be easy to stop as well.
All I know is if it is on the magazine stand, folks walking by will just see Trump on the cover and think “wow, that guy is everywhere, what a leader!” Free advertising.
1-Trump is NOT a “conservative”
2-True Conservatives NOT supporting Trump is NOT the definition of “RINO”.
3-True Conservative Republicans support ALL Conservative Values and not only the anti-Amnesty plank.
4-Are Trump supporters even certain that Trump won’t end up supporting simply delayed Amnesty?
National Review had no problem endorsing RINO Romney(twice)
and also thought Huntsman was worth considering LMAO...
Trump has pulled the carpet out from under the Establishment.
This is a perfect example of why conservatism has failed in national politics, recently. Its time to throw all the bustuds out.
Just grabbed this off the internet. When have these supposed “pure” conservatives aimed their fire in like concentration on the ones who have really done all of this?

Yes, because we’ve been so well served by the “conservatives” in the GOPe. Just look at all the great work “conservative” senators, like McConnell and McCain, have done for us!
Sorry, but I don’t fear Trump. Is he going to do worse than Obama? I don’t see how. Will he stab us in the back? Perhaps, but then again, it’s not like the GOPe hasn’t done that to us year after year already.
But then Republican != Conservative.
My unconditional cultural enemies ... Monica's old boyfriend's wife. That Arkansas trailer trash criminal woman...
and RINOs.
The enemy of my enemy...
Is my candidate!
End of discussion.
Bring it on!
Sure is bumpy right before breaking sound barrier. GOPe is in full panic mode. lol.
A bunch of Rinos talking to each other and slapping each other’s butts.
I read most of it. Very, very little of the content has anything to do with the issues (as opposed to personality and not personal political history) that have pushed Trump to the front: out of control immigration; “free” trade / absence of American manufacturing; and cross-party establishment idiocy on foreign policy (expensive no win / self-defeating interventions everywhere). They also do not address Trump’s cross-over appeal to working Democrats (hopefully there are some left!) which at least IMHO is lacking in the other candidates.
Sing it loud.
