Oh Dear – Mark Levin Credibility Melts Like Glenn Beck Tears (tr)
The Last Refuge ^ | January 21, 2016 | sundance

Posted on 01/22/2016 4:08:30 AM PST by monkapotamus

There's something initially angering that becomes very sad when a fraud is revealed.  Tonight on his radio show Mark Levin was forced to admit the son of his fiancee is a full time staffer for Senator Ted Cruz.

After spending weeks attacking anyone who critiques candidate Ted Cruz, the motives of Mark Levin now take full sunlight.   He should be ashamed, VERY ashamed.

No, Mr. crony-constitutionalist, lying by omission is not the least bit funny.  Nor is deception toward your audience when you do not disclose your own conflicts.   Especially when we consider the hours Levin spends railing against the internecine family associations like George Will and his wife working for Scott Walker.

Crony politics is apparently alive and well amid the Mark Levin radio show. Perhaps he will tell the audience how much advertising money he takes from political campaigns?  Or more specifically entities with a vested interest in political campaigns?

Think he'll fess up now that he's busted?

Nah, me neither.

He's got another book to sell...

Wow. Just Wow.

The campaign of Donald Trump continues to expose the "Decepticons".

Well, if Mark Levin expresses opinions not meant to coronate Emperor Donald I, then you’ll just have to teach him a lesson, too! Right? How can he dare disagree with the mob? Off with his head! /s

Levin only disclosed this conflict of interest because he was forced to.

Very dishonest by Levin.

What else has Levin been hiding?

I like Levin. Rarely listen to his show because it is never on when I am in my car.

But really.....Mark Levin has been around long enough for me to know his opinions are not shaped by the associations of a stepson-to-be. One report said a volunteer on his campaign staff; another says full time staffer. Not sure which.

It’s not even close in my mind, so for Levin to call people like me a birther, etc., was tough to take.
Cruz- not eligible
Rubio- not eligible
Obama- not eligible
McJuan- probably not

You seem to forget like everyone including Levin who Goldman Sachs is. They wrote, financed and benefited from TARP.

Unbelievable.

I didn't forget anything. You seem to not know that it wasn't Cruz who supported TARP. It was Trump who supported TARP and the Auto Bailout. And all of his banking associates and union associates benefited from it.

You have no problem with that for your sainted Cruz and wife.

You know I clearly said that I didn't think Cruz was a saint, and you post the same strawman crap to me again.

Populist OOOO scary. He is appealing to all those Whacko Birds, right?

You really sound defensive. Many Trump supporters call Trump a populist.

Trump has a history of giving money to whomever will allow him to make money. He strongly supported Kelo v. Connecticut. That decision allows your local gov. to take your property if they think they can make more money by selling it someone else.
He thinks tariffs will work. Tariffs don’t work. The Smoot-Hawley tariff made the depression a lot worse. He’s made a lot of other anti-free trade statements.

In short, he’s not a conservative. He’s an opportunist. Hes in it for himself.

Free Trade? Like the 5,000 page Goldman Sachs written TPP? That kind of “free trade”?

Really, on what basis should conservatives trust Goldman Sachs and their bought and paid for politicians to bring us folks on Main Street “free trade”.

Free trade is a fairy tale these days. It’s crony capitalist transnationalist unfree trade and it does not benefit us at all.

We need a counter balance to the globalists and the threat of a few in kind tariffs is an excellent opening negotiating position, IMO. They really don’t want that.

I could get your freep mail, but I was prohibited from responding. It said that my account was too new to use that feature.

I was suspended for pushing the abuse button on a freeper that called me a “loser” and was spamming the threads with insults calling everyone who said anything positive about Cruz a “loser” and other insults. When I inquired about what was happening to this forum, I was suspended and then after my suspension was up, I could not use my freep mail account and all my posts were being “reviewed” and then an hour or two later they would appear on the forum.

I’ve been here for 15 years and I have been suspended a few times and I have deserved every suspension I have gotten. But to suspend someone for pressing the abuse button on someone who is spamming the threads with insults is something new and frankly something that is really upsetting.

The rancor on this forum has clearly gotten out of hand.

We are literally destroying ourselves over this Trump/Cruz war. I can’t post a positive statement about Cruz without getting a batch of insults thrown at me. The same goes for people who are trying to say positive things about Trump. It goes both ways, but the moderators are clearly not enforcing the “No Personal Attacks” rule and when I pointed that out to them I was suspended.

Let’s see if I get suspended for this post.

I just don’t agree. I think Levin has a personal connection to a campaign and he should reveal it if he’s going to take sides that call his credibility into question.

And if he’s keeping it secret that actually makes it worse.

Before Cruz Levin was pimping Rubio as a “true” conservative. That was a real WTF moment for me.

If Mark didn’t talk about the realtionship, then who did? One of the two others involved did.

How would anyone know unless Mark was doing a Wilbur Mills number?

Odd turn of phrase Mark used in the broadcast...”digging up dirt on him”.

No dirt, no foul.

Wish him and his bride to be much happiness and may his heart rest easy.

No, we don’t agree. Not at all. Levin has NEVER hid his admiration for Cruz. Cruz would not be a Senator but for Levin giving his publicity. The fact that a possible future relative works for Cruz in Washington and NOT in his campaign is entirely irrelevant. It has been no secret that Levin and Cruz are close friends. But someone is trying to smear Levin over his own personal life and that is ALINSKY TACTICS if there ever were any.

To say I am angered and disturbed that people are trying to destroy Levin because he or anyone in his family have any type of relationship with Ted Cruz. It is truly scary. Someone is willing to stop at nothing to not only defeat Ted Cruz but to destroy him and everyone who supports him.

If anyone was under a impression that Mark Levin was not friends with and agreed with most of the positions of Ted Cruz before yesterday, then they were either ignorant or delusional.

The fact that they are friends makes it all the more important to reveal covert personal ties to the campaign.

The standards of his profession are opposed to his position.

Newt was no where near as vocal as Cruz is and has been. Newt without a doubt was conservative however he was able to advance it during a time when all were willing to work with him and we had far less a population of division than we do now. The party was unified under Newt. Furthermore Newt was the leader of our side. Today Newt would be castrated as Cruz is today and ostricised as an outsider. A loon

It is no more of a "conflict of interest" than George Will's service preparing Reagan for his debates against Demonrat nominees while covering the campaigns in his column. It is no surprise whatsoever that Levin, a movement conservative from his days in Young Americans for Freedom, through his service in Reagan's administration, his books and his radio show, is backing the actually conservative candidate. BTW, I was not aware that Levin even had announced support for Cruz, and I don't think he has. It is just that the understandably hypersensitive Trumpettes regard anything other than worship of their demigod to be support for his most effective rival.

Oh, and when it comes to sticking it to "the man," Robio defeated the verrrrrry entitled Lavender Charlie Crist, first driving him out of the GOP primary and then defeating his Demonratic candidacy. Ted Cruz defeated the megabillionaire and very powerful Lt. Governor David Dewhurst for the GOP Senate nomination that he saw as his path to the status of servant of McCaonnell. When Cruz dispatched Dewhurst, that led to Dewhurst's defeat in the next primary for Lt. Governor by a conservative talk show host. Hopefully, John Cornyn will be next to go.

Which GOP-E figures has The Donald dispatched in that manner or he is just a big mouth? The Donald: All hat, no cattle!

His "possible" future Step son is NOT TIED TO THE CAMPAIGN. In fact his "possible" future step son, as an employee of the United States Senate is prohibited by law from having any ties whatsoever to Ted Cruz's campaigns, either for Senate of President.

Ted Cruz is essentially his boss, and if he is like most employees he probably thinks his boss is a jerk.

WE NEED TO STOP EATING OUR OWN.

THIS HAS GOT TO STOP!

Considering the vitriol I have witnessed, not only are candidates fair game, anyone publicly supporting a candidate is fair game as well. In that sense “digging up dirt” does not seem to be an odd phrase IMHO.

The sad thing is it will get worse.

It was Anne Coulter, once herself a conservative before she fell for Krispy Kreme. Moral Monster Mitt Romney and now The Donald, was the one who told us she would support Trump even if he were performing abortions personally in public. After all, the wall, the Wall, THE WALL! Don'tcha know? Annie said it. We didn't.

You think Trump can win and govern without conservatives who support Cruz? This campaign took a turn for the hateful when the Manhattan opportunist started blathering about Cruz not being a NBC. Trump would inspire a LOT more confidence if he concentrated less on the well-settled NBC Birther nonsense, less on Megyn Kelly's monthlies and more on giving SPECIFICS on more of the policies he expects to follow. His support for Second Amendment individual rights, and his response to immigration are a good start but we need less hype and more meat. Fewer glib throwaway lines, more actual substance.

you read wrong. Mark said he was employed as a Senate Staffer. That’s what I heard him say.

Frankly I don’t care who his fiance works for or what they do. What I am concerned with is the blatant ALINSKY TACTICS that are being used to destroy Ted Cruz. Not merely to defeat him, but to DESTROY HIM.

Is that what we have become? Destroying solid Tea Party Conservatives like Cruz and Levin in order to promote someone we really know nothing about?

See tagline
