Donald Trump on Wednesday said it is "sad" that no blacks were nominated for top awards at the Oscars.
"I think it's a tough situation. I think it's really sad," the celebrity businessman and television personality said during an interview on "Fox and Friends."
"It would certainly be nice if everybody could be represented properly," Trump continued. "And hopefully that's the case, but perhaps it's not the case. It's a difficult situation."

You got it! President Trump's pen and phone will take care of this critical problem.
May His will be done. Thus sayeth the Law and the Profits.
Laughable really...
What about Asians?
What about Hispanics?
What about gays and lesbians?*
*: Never mind, they are already over-represented...
Yeah, the ethanol is a pander, but not IMO this.
He’s essentially saying, “too bad, no representation these past two years, but there’s certainly been a number of times when blacks have won recently.”
That’s just his gentle version of “I feel your pain, but that’s the way it is. We have evidence from past awards that discrimination isn’t the issue, so I imagine your turn will come around again.”
Well, let’s just be glad that Trump is not The Movie Critic In Chief.
All the movies pretty much stink today, the movie houses are awful and uncomfortable, so blacks are well out of it!
In continuing his "New York values" line of attack, Ted Cruz brought up an interview Donald Trump gave years ago in which he himself emphasized his New York background as being important to his political philosophy. And now we have that interview.
Cruz's campaign posted the video earlier today of Trump with Tim Russert on Meet the Press in 1999.
Russert asked Trump about gay marriage. Trump didn't want to comment on it, but said he has no problem with gays in the military.
He explained, "I've lived in New York City and Manhattan all my life, okay? So my views are a little bit different than if I lived in Iowa."
When Russert asked Trump about abortion, he said he's "pro-choice in every respect" and again cited his New York background, which he said has a "different attitude" from most of the country.
We should have picked our own cotton.
“It would certainly be nice if everybody could be represented properly,”
I’m waiting for Trump to say it would be nice if the NBA were 75% white.
Are you implying that the BET Awards are insufficient? That sounds racist to me. lol
What do you expect him to say? What can he say?
I don’t really care about Hollywood or the Oscars, frankly. They pandered and now they’re finding out that it is never enough. Thus my adage.
Let them have their show with Chris “Ghetto” Rock (who never was ghetto or downtrodden) trying to figure out how to act black and pissed but still get paid.
I think it’s funny. Maybe one day when they actually make a movie that isn’t about how some black guy/girl is the victim of (you name all the ills here), and actually portrays a story that NEVER mentions racism, color or slavery or any of that (including Thug Life), then by damn I might watch one. Until then they can f@ck off.
I expect it.
He could say nothing about this matter. Shrug his shoulders and say “It’s Hollywood.”
Tell me exactly what is wrong with what he said:
“It would certainly be nice if everybody could be represented properly,” Trump continued. “And hopefully that’s the case, but perhaps it’s not the case. It’s a difficult situation.”
It would nice if there were more white basketball players. It would be nice if there were more black scientists. It would be nice if there were more black race car drivers. But there aren’t. I’m not going to start taking anti-depressants over it.
“What the heck kind of doublespeak mumbo-jumbo is that?”
That is what you say when whatever you say will be the wrong thing to say.
I’m impressed.
Yet he endorsed (in 2013) communist Bill De Blasio for New York City major. He supports Obama's opening up to communist Cuba. He, in his mid-50s!, supported gay marriage, gays in the military AND partial birth abortion!
There is only so much that affirmative action can accomplish.
Really? Better check my previous posts on this thread.
He has no core set of beliefs. His statements are based on what he thinks will help him at that particular point in time.
I’m a Republican, no I’m a Democrat, no I’m an independent, no this time I’m really a Republican.
Obama’s great, no Obama’s a disaster
Hillary’ great no she isn’t
I like Ted Cruz, no he’s a maniac and nobody likes him.
So when he says, NOW, that he’ll build a wall, how in the world do I have any confidence that he’ll have that position in the future?
So the black emcee might resign in protest?
Even if all those crimes really happened, it still doesn’t mean Trump has to back hollyweird on this issue.
You are pulling in a lot of extraneous issues to the posted issue of this thread.
So if you can, I can. Watch this video and get back to me. But watch the whole thing first:
